London, Ontario, Canada

Wow up for your consideration is my 1963 Chevrolet Impala 2dr hardtop which will be right over the top when completed.

Its a 1963 Chev Impala that has had many body modifications done like the roof has been lowered about 2" front and rear windows have been kicked out, which give it an unbelievable cool look. Front and rear glass has been fitted, side glass has to be ordered templates for the glass have been made and are with the car. The car has cutouts for exhaust just in front of rear wheels there are many more subtle  body modifications also has been finished in satin black not primer but ICI paint. The frame has been zeed to allow for lowering to the frame when sitting, The car rides on air and is complete with all tanks and pumps only thing that is needed is the shockwave shocks for the front.

The Guys in the pictures are about 5' 8" or 5' 9" its low and cool. Think the cars around 40" high when its down maybe lower.

The Powertrain came out of I believe a 2006 Corvette this is the engine and transmission all computers and wiring, AC and other needed components are there there is a after market wiring upgraded that has been installed but has not been finished, all the dash and about 3 difference configuration of gauge clusters are in boxes in the trunk with many other parts. The suspension is on air as note earlier needing shockwave shocks on the front to complete. It has C5 Corvette suspension on all four corners inc. a C5 rear end and sits on 20" Coys with brand new Nitto tires. Drive line is complete and installed has all needed computers and sensors need to make it function correctly.

The car is aprox. 75% completed and around 98% of all parts needed to complete are there, inc. grill and bumpers and trim. It also has a pretty much complete 04 Monte Carlo interior there somewhat fitted to the car still needs fine tuning and fitting but should work well with this up grade. Oh has custom made gas tank fitted and gas door moved to allow the lowering of the car. Wow way to much to talk about Im sure I have forgotten many things so ask. Theres lots of money spent and hard work done just easy stuff left to do and you will have one cool ride.

Body mods: Roof Lowered cost $11,000.00, Exhaust cut outs $2000.00, Z frame stiffen frame install air system and rear bags fit C5 Diff. $5000.00 Move and make gas tank $2200.00, Coy Wheels & Tires New $2800.00, C5 Engine transmission computers & Suspension and rear end $6000.00 That's not inc the car many of the parts purchased along the way, Labour paint ect. my lose your gain all I would like is a picture of the completed car.

Check the photos out as they speak for themselves.

Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest

Tue, Jun 16 2015

There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
