Up for auction is my 1962 Chevy Impala 4 door automatic. As you can see from the pics, it is painted two tone. The top is red & the body & fender skirts are white. It has a 235 straight 6cyl engine that sounds good. It has a modern day electronic distributor installed in it. It is a power steering car. Not many cars back then had power steering. It has the original am radio & the dash is not cut up or butchered like a lot of these old cars are. The other door panels are in the trunk with a lot of extra parts for the car. As you can also see from the pics is that the windshield is cracked on the passenger side front corner but I have another good windshield that goes with the car. The missing side mouldings from the doors & fenders are also in the trunk. I have the floor panel for the passenger side front but it needs to be welded in. The rear floors are ok but you will have to buy or fabricate the floor for the drivers side front. They are sold in most all of the chevy aftermarket books. It is missing the front chrome hood lip but they do sell it here on ebay & in the chevy books. The headliner is missing & will need to be replaced. It has 5- P245/60R14 monte carlo rims & tires on it. The headlights & tailights all work. The burgandy seats in it are from an old plymouth vehicle but i do still have the original front bench seat for it & the winning bidder can have it if they want but it will need reupholstering. The body is in pretty good condition with no major signs of rust or damage. The car does run & drive & stop but i would have the brakes checked out before you drive it on the highway. I have a clean NYS registration for it. NYS does not use titles on pre 1975 vehicles but use registrations instead.
You are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over & start the vehicle. I will not ship the vehicle but will drive it onto your car hauler or trailer. Camaro-based Trans Am SE Bandit Edition borrows Burt Reynolds
Tue, Mar 29 2016For some reason, modifying modern Chevrolet Camaros into the lurching, reincarnated shells of the Pontiac brand is still a thing. If you're the perverse sort that likes this kind of thing, you should check out the latest product from the Trans Am Depot, which comes complete with an endorsement from the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds. Yes, the new Trans Am SE Bandit Edition has been signed and endorsed by the man himself, but what's important here is not the signature on the dash, it's the bits of Camaro that have been modified. Aesthetically, that means a Bandit-and-Frog-approved set of T-tops, a front-opening hood with a very large, prominent shaker scoop, an equally large and prominent screaming chicken, and Trans Am-inspired front and rear fascias. And naturally, Burt Reynolds' signature adorns the dash. There are plenty of reminders in the cabin about this car's Hollywood inspiration, too. Bandit decals can be found on the front headrests and center console lid, there are chicken wings on the Camaro-spec plastic door inserts, and the black-and-tan color scheme matches nicely with the exterior look. And power? Well, Sheriff Buford T. Justice would have a lot more trouble keeping up with this Trans Am than he did with the original. The 7.4-liter LSX V8 has been paired with a 2.9-liter supercharger which is good for 840 horsepower. It's fast and loud, and even if you can't get behind the look (we can't), at least this Camaro-in-Trans Am's clothing can impress with its performance. The Bandit Edition is limited to just 77 units with prices starting around $115,000. GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue
Wed, 14 Nov 2012General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.
GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults
Mon, Dec 1 2014General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website.
