Hi, up for sale is my California born, all original 1962 Chevy Impala Super Sport. You will be hard pressed to find one in this condition that hasn't been tampered with. Below I will try and describe this car to the best of my ability. Car is damn near show quality..

Starting with the outside: Brand new paint done over a laser straight body in the original Ermine white. There's not a single piece of rust, or a single ding, dent or scratch anywhere on this car. All the stainless around the windows was completely removed and repolished, both bumpers were rechromed to a show finish, a few new emblems, side moldings, rear dual antennas, windshield wipers, license plate frames, front fender trim, parking lamp lenses, and rear taillights. All glass is in excellent shape with no scratches or cracks. Both headlights, brake lights and turn signals work as they should. Outside is beautiful as you can see !!

Inside: The inside is also almost all brand new or redone. All parts from Classic Industries. There's newer seat foam and blue vinyl covers( plastic seat covers on top to prevent stains etc, easily removed). Door panels, carpet, visors, rear deck lid, all brake pedal covers, felts, rubbers, weatherstrips, rearview mirror, inner door handles, steering wheel, all dash lettering is new but not installed at the time of the pic. etc. This car is equipped with power windows and yes they all work. they go up and down with ease. Also equipped with factory air conditioning that works and has been converted over to R-34. All electrical on the inside works as it should. Dash lights, dome lamp lenses, lower under dash lights, wipers and horn all work. Inside is just as beautiful as outside !!

Motor & Transmission: The motor is a very strong 327 that was completely fine tuned and has no issues of smoking or knocking. There's a lot of new parts....new alternator, battery, carb, hoses, belts, HEI distributor, recored radiator, and a couple things here and there. This is a factory power steering and power brake car. The transmission is the orig powerglide with freeway friendly gears. Hop in and drive this car anywhere without any hesitation.

Trunk: Very clean with no rust issues topped off with the original jack kit, a spare tire, and a trunk mat kit.

Suspension & Everything else: The undercarriage of this car is all original and was just steam cleaned...looks nice and rust free. There's brand new tires with less than 250 miles on them with a set of driver quality original SS hubcaps. Also included is a set of metal rear fender skirts. Car does need an alignment. It pulls some to the right.

Above I've been honest and thorough as possible to describe to you exactly what I see and know about the car. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to text or call me at 408-712-9427

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible

Mon, Dec 8 2014

The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.

Chevy teases next-gen Volt at fan event in LA

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Barely two months before its planned debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet has released yet another batch of teaser images of its second-generation Volt. Unlike the first image, though, which just showed the car's rear badge, there's a lot more to this quartet of shots. The first three images show off the nose of the next-gen model and come from a fan event in Los Angeles. What we can see is a sleeker front end, with an evolution of the silver grille inserts previously seen on the original Volt and Spark EV. Gone is the current car's split upper grille, in favor of a more conventional arrangement. The sharper, more angular headlights are also an evolution of the lamps seen on the current Volt. Chevrolet also took the opportunity to announce a new location-based charging system that uses GPS to adjust the vehicle's charge settings, including the charge level, while also announcing that the next-gen car will feature more intuitive charge indicators that will be better able to inform owners of their car's charging level. The tech will mean that the Volt 'knows' when it is parked at home, and can thus automatically optimize charging for off-peak times, and so on. Take a look at the teaser images at the top of the page, and then head below for Chevy's press release announcing the new features. Next-Gen Chevy Volt Offers More User-Friendly Charging 2014-11-20 GPS makes charging more convenient Portable charger is easier to access Intuitive visual cues show charge status DETROIT – If there's one thing Chevrolet Volt owners love about their cars, it's being able to recharge the battery easily. Evidence of that is a U.S. Department of Energy study that shows more than 80 percent of all trips by Volt owners did not use the range extender. Chevrolet has made the charging system in the next-generation Volt even easier for customers to recharge the battery – and to check the charge status. The next-generation Volt debuts in January at the North American International Auto Show. "Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today's Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt," said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.
