I'm selling a beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood 2 door station wagon project car. I've been restoring this car for the last 4 months but am unable to continue doing any more because we will be relocating. I know I will regret selling this car because it's very rare and just so cool. There is so much potential with this car, it's unbelievable. There were only a couple thousand made. This was a Missouri car. It has a beautiful running 350 Chevy engine and automatic transmission out of a Nova. Not everything is hooked up. It has brand new dual exhaust with glass packs. It has a very nice set of Cooper radial tires (not new) but with plenty of tread. Excellent set of Cragar SS wheels. The rear end of the car needs to be rebuilt (but rolls)--I have another rear end out of another Brookwood for it that should be good--however, I was going to put a limited slip rear end in it but never got around to it. There is no drive shaft for it. The brakes need to be done. The shocks are bad. A lot of people end up putting airbag suspensions in these cars. I'm sure the front end is going to have to be gone through. Frame is excellent--straight and rust free. All the wiring will have to be hooked up. The body is 99% rust free. Has brand new back lower quarter panels (a prior owner cut the original panels out--not because of rust--but to make room for fat tires.) I put in all new floor pans. I have all the glass for it except for the rear passenger window. The glass is not perfect but decent. The seats are ok but should probably be reupholstered. Needs a headliner and interior door panels. The car is just in primer and it looks pretty cool just as it is, however, it is not totally ready for a fresh paint job. I pretty much have everything for it--missing one chrome strip for the front fender and the other one is dented. The rest of the chrome is decent--needs to be polished. Just keep in mind this is a project car and there is still plenty to do on it. There is no title. Have a VIN tag and can provide a bill of sale. Any questions please call Rob (218) 269-7592

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars

Mon, Apr 14 2014

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. GM files to trademark name Badlands

Mon, Feb 23 2015

If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. This map reveals the cleanest vehicles based on location

Thu, Apr 28 2016

Naysayers love to point out how dirty the electricity grid mix is when it comes to charging electric vehicles. Curmudgeons are eager to jump into any conversation about EVs to enlighten the lucky listeners about how plug-in cars contribute to pollution, sometimes even throwing in a dash of climate-change denial for good measure. (Thanks, buddy. Pray, tell me more about the plight of oppressed SUV owners.) Unless someone buys an EV just because they think they're cool (which, yeah, they often are), they probably have at least a passable understanding of their environmental pros and cons. As many EV owners are already aware, location has a lot to do with any particular plug-in car's carbon footprint. Still, there's always more to know, and knowledge is not a bad thing, especially if one uses it to do the right thing. That's why this handy-dandy map from Carnegie Mellon University is so interesting. CMU researchers have compiled information about the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of various EVs based on where they're charged, as compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The researchers looked at the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and Prius Plug-In Hybrid versus the gasoline-dependent Toyota Prius hybrid and the stop-start-equipped Mazda3 with i-ELOOP and compared grams of CO2 emitted per mile. CMU takes into account the grid mix, ambient temperature, and driving patterns. CMU takes into account the grid mix based on county, as well as ambient temperature and driving patterns in terms of miles traveled on the highway or in the city. For instance, if you drive a Nissan Leaf in urban areas of California, Texas, or Florida, your carbon footprint is lower than it would be if you were driving a standard Toyota Prius. However, if you charge your Leaf in the Midwest or the South, for the most part, you've got a larger carbon footprint than the Prius. If you live in the rural Midwest, you'd probably even be better off driving a Mazda3. Throughout the country, the Chevrolet Volt has a larger carbon footprint than the Toyota Prius, but a smaller one than the Mazda3 in a lot of urban counties in the US. The Prius and Prius Plug-In are relatively equal across the US. Having trouble keeping it straight? That's not surprising. The comparisons between plug-in and gasoline vehicles are much more nuanced than the loudest voices usually let on.
