Up for auction is my VERY NICE 1978 CHEVROLET G20 3/4 TON VAN WITH SLIDING SIDE DOOR.  This van is OWNED, BUILT AND MAINTAINED BY A ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC.  The motor is was pulled from a great running 1978 Chevy 3/4 ton truck and the Turbo Hydro Automatic Transmission was pulled from the same truck. The motor and transmission was gone through, cleaned up and installed in the van and it starts right up, runs, shifts and drives great. The front end and brakes are new and have no problems, I would trust this van to drive anywhere so do not hesitate to fly in from anywhere and drive this van home and make an adventure out of it. The ceiling, walls and floor of the van are fully lined and covered , the ceiling and walls with a nice tweed material and the floors have nice carpet. The van was well insulated to cut down oh the amount of road noise, heat and cold entering the van and to deaden the sound of the REALLY NICE (SIMPLE) BUT NICE STEREO SYSTEM.  The stereo has a nice Pioneer am/fm/cd player head unit, a pair of co-axil speakers and pair of Bose speakers in the back , a nice conservative amp and a 8" self powered sub woofer. The stereo sounds really good but it's not overkill, just a nice little system, I have never installed an antenna so I always plug my iPod up to it and go. The seats are new, the front captain chairs are very comfortable and they recline nicely. The rear seat folds down into a bed for those long trips. I built a rear deck that I use for storage but it is carpeted nicely and could be used as a second bed. There is ample storage under the rear deck for the spare tire, groceries, tools, luggage or whatever you need it for. There is also a house battery under the deck to run any accessories you might need. The van is also wired for trailer lights and pulls a trailer very well. The air conditioner works great but needs to be charged and I will have it charged before you pick the van up if you use the "Buy It Now" option. The BF Goodrich tires are in great condition with no unusual wear and are at least 75%. The even wear is a great indicator that the front end on this van is very tight and does not wander, goes straight under braking, and no play in the steering wheel. The van also has tilt steering and cruise control. The windows are tinted and all the locks match. The dash is very clean with no cracks. The only thing I can say bad about this van is that it does have some rust spots in  but nothing structural or the would effect the integrity of the van. The rust is very easy to repair if you so wish. The van comes with a rare custom chrome tube grill and a spare tire. Please excuse the pictures, there was some trash form the day between the seats up front and I had the wheels and tires to my Camaro in the back. The reason I am selling this van is three fold, I wanted to use it for a shop van but it is too nice, I already have a Ford 1 ton diesel van that will fit that bill and I do not need two vans. Just as a side note I also have a running/driving long wheel base 1976 Chevrolet G20 van with clear title and a 1981 GMC G20 short wheel base factory custom van that runs/drives and with clear title that I will make in to a package deal if you wish. You will be VERY pleased with this van , it is way above average mechanical condition and will provide someone with very reliable transportation. Please check out my feedback, bid with confidence and and bid to win the VERY NICE 1978 CHEVROLET VAN, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT.  I really hope someone buys it that will give it the loving care it deserves and not strip it out and use it to haul around dirty tools or something. This is a happy little van that looks clean, smells clean and wants to be your best friend or a member of your family. Do not let this one pass you by, this is the one you have been looking for. Please note that I do not know the exact mileage on this van but looking at the wear on the brake pedal I would say it's around 100,000 miles so that is what I put down to satisfy eBay requirements. Mileage is exempt .Thank you for looking at my auctions and be sure to check out my other actions. ***********I AM HAVING TO RE-LIST THE VAN DUE TO A NON PAYING BUYER. THE BUYER WAS MEADSPORTS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE SCARED TO COMPLETE THE DEAL EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A OUTSTANDING FEEDBACK RECORD THESE BUYERS ARE LIARS AND DEADBEATS, DO NOT SELL TO THEM.  NOW I HAVE TO PAY TO RE-LIST BECAUSE THE BUYER IS TOO CHEAP AND CHICKEN TO PAY MY SELLERS FEE.  NON PAYING BUYERS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN THIEVES*****    My requirements are that I get a deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction and full payment within 7 days of the end of the auction, immediate payment for the "buy it now" option.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON MY AUCTIONS.   ****THE NON PAYING BUYER WAS MEADESPORTS, BEWARE OF THEM AND DO NOT SELL TO THEM********

2016 Chevy Malibu gets premium looks, hybrid model

Wed, Apr 1 2015

The Chevrolet Malibu was once an automotive icon, but its modern reputation is one for underachievement. A new 2016 model seeks to restore the storied nameplate with improved styling, more interior room and a new hybrid version. It debuts Wednesday at the New York Auto Show. Put simply, "the goal was to put Chevrolet back in the midsize car segment," said John Cafaro, the brand's executive director of car design. In a crowded arena with 2.2 million sales up for grabs annually, Chevy has not been a player. Last year, the brand sold 188,519 Malibus, a six-percent decline from 2013, and fewer than half the number of Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords sold. Despite awards from J.D. Power and Associates and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Chevy knew the Malibu needed a big change. New Skin, Lighter Bones The redesign has been in the works for at least three years. Although the Malibu is still based on GM's Epsilon 2 platform, the underpinnings are more derivative of the Impala than the outgoing model. The body structure makes greater use of high-strength steel, which helps reduce weight by 300 pounds. Size is more Impala-like as well, with 2.3 inches more overall length and a 3.6-inch wheelbase stretch contributing to greater interior space. A new skin covers the Malibu's lighter bones, and design language from the Impala gives its sibling sedan a fresher, more upscale appearance. To execute this premium appearance, Chevy turned to 25-year-old designer Jaymer Starbody, a four-year General Motors veteran and graduate from Detroit's College for Creative Studies. He described the new Malibu as having a "wheel-oriented" design, and the car looks poised to pounce from certain angles. Though the 2016 Malibu is the same width as before, designers stretched the creases and angles in the sheetmetal to create a flatter, sleeker appearance. The hood and cowl are lower, and the Malibu's face sparkles with LED running lamps on the top trim levels. Inside, the roomier cabin has a new center stack, satin chrome accents on the interior panel and a console storage area designed for mobile devices. Chevy MyLink with a seven-inch color touchscreen is standard on lower trims, and the top model upgrades to an eight-inch screen. Perforated leather seats and ambient lighting are also available options. The cabin was designed to look high-tech, but still remain easy to use, according to Chevy interior design director Crystal Windham.

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

Chevy previews 2016 Malibu ahead of New York debut

Thu, Mar 5 2015

With everything going on in Geneva this week, it would be all-too easy to forget that there's still stuff going on back home in America. And the upcoming new Chevy Malibu is a prime example. Chevrolet has announced that it is bringing an all-new Malibu to the New York Auto Show next month, teasing us with this preview image and a few enticing details. For starters, when we say it's all new, this time we mean it's all new. The next-generation Malibu has been built on a new platform that uses more high-strength steel to cut 300 pounds off the curb weight compared to the outgoing model. It's also got a wheelbase that's almost four inches longer, with shorter overhangs front and rear and a roofline that tapers stylishly and more gradually towards the tail. We'll have to wait a little longer – but not too much longer – to find out more, but in the meantime you can read what Chevy's telling us so far in the press release below. Born Again: Next-Gen Chevrolet Malibu Announced Larger, lighter and more efficient Malibu to be unveiled at New York Auto Show 2015-03-04 DETROIT – Designed to deliver more efficiency, connectivity and advanced safety features than ever, the next-generation 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will make its public debut at the New York International Auto Show this April. Using a blank slate approach, Chevrolet designers benefited from an entirely new architecture, which for Malibu includes a wheelbase nearly four inches longer than the outgoing model. That, in turn, provides increased rear legroom and interior space. Due to a higher-strength steel structure, the new Malibu is also expected to be 300 pounds lighter than the current model, which benefits the sedan's fuel economy and handling. "Malibu's gorgeous styling is the result of a masterful understanding of proportions," said Ed Welburn, General Motors' vice president of Global Design. "The roofline has been stretched rearward giving a more sleek profile, while the front wheels have moved forward and front and rear overhangs have been reduced. Along with the sculpted body side, these cues help Malibu appear more dynamic and sophisticated." More details about the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will be shared each week leading up to the vehicle's global debut. The 2016 Malibu is expected to go on sale by the end of 2015. Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world's largest car brands, doing business in more than 115 countries and selling around 4.8 million cars and trucks a year.
