I am the second owner of this unmolested 99' Chevrolet 3500 Express van. I purchased it last year from the original owner in Wa., who ordered it from his local GM dealer and sent her from Washington state to Pa. to have Quigley do to this Super Trak  1 ton conversion, this came with the Dana 60 front axle(lockout hubs)..,soft ride springs etc.The gentelman i purchased from said he had it built to take his grandchildren snowboading and never had to used the 4wd ,that it was more of a insurance than anything else. The frame and underside is as clean as the exterior,as Wa. uses sand/cinder mix NO SALT. I had teflon rims,Maxxis 35x12.50 radials installed ,all on stock Quigley suspension w/ 3" body lift..the van is probably 8/9" over a standard 3500 series van. As i wanted more of a rolling/ badass// rolling billboard, work van, i left all carpet, wall cover, and headliner in tact and  built as pictures show; a wood (capsule)..with nothing touching perimeter but plywood on bottom, as to be removed as reqd. in the future. So van can be either a awesome play /family van to go ANYWHERE or super lookin' attention getting work truck, after having local artist design vinyl logo/grafix..honestley, i could not bring myself to actually violate the van and to date all artwork is paid for but will have to go to waste! This van needs nothing, brakes were all gone thru prior to my purchase as was flowmaster muffler,K/N intake filter, optima battery. I did have  chrome front diff. cover, billet grille, remote start, also a very handy reverse activated backup camera system installed.Interior is just about as mint as you will see and loaded with most factory options incl. ; pwr. mirrors, cruise, tilt,a/c pwr. seats,pwr.locks,pwr. windows...all work as new, and both myself and original owner are no smokers!.Van drives great ,with no leaks..engine is the 454 cu. and gets around  12/14 mpg.The roof racks have only been used once and are weatherguard pro brand they can go with van -- or racks and work area build out, will be removed as desired by new owner prior to delivery. These are not cheap, especially in this unmolested condition,so bid with the utmost confidence as this one is a sweetheart and truly a pleasure to drive. As my business changed unwanted direction..as did my use of such a great vehicle, all things considered....i hope the new owner appreciates and takes care of her as deserved!!      GOOD LUCK.  --  Do have walk around video, and any additional pics upon request.

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:

GM pickup truck plant in Flint to add 1,000 assembly workers

Tue, Feb 5 2019

FLINT, Mich. — General Motors said Tuesday it will add 1,000 workers to build new heavy-duty pickup trucks at its plant in Flint, Michigan, and will give priority to GM workers who were laid off elsewhere. The announcement comes the day after GM said it was starting to hand pink slips to about 4,000 salaried workers in the latest round of a restructuring announced in late November that will ultimately shrink its white-collar workforce in North America by 15 percent out of 54,000. GM has come under fire from U.S. President Donald Trump and Midwestern lawmakers for its plans to stop production at five North American factories and cut up to 15,000 jobs in all. The automaker has said it is trying to find new jobs for 1,500 U.S. hourly workers at the affected plants. Flint's truck plant could be a haven for many of these employees. Sales of heavy-duty pickups in the United States have grown to more than 600,000 vehicles a year, up more than 20 percent since 2013, according to industry data. Prices for luxury models can easily top $70,000. GM on Tuesday will celebrate the launch of a new generation of heavy-duty GMC and Chevrolet pickups at the assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, that is now building all such trucks for the company. Elsewhere in the company on Monday, two people briefed on the cuts in the white-collar salaried workforce said GM is cutting hundreds of jobs at its information technology centers in Texas, Georgia, Arizona and Michigan and more than 1,000 jobs at its Warren, Michigan Tech Center. GM is filing new required mass layoff notices with state agencies and disclosed the cuts to lawmakers. The largest U.S. automaker announced in November it would cut a total of about 15,000 jobs and end production at five North American plants. The cuts include eliminating about 8,000 salaried workers, or about 15 percent. GM cut about 1,500 contract workers in December and said 2,300 salaried workers accepted buyouts, officials said. "These actions are necessary to secure the future of the company, including preserving thousands of jobs in the U.S. and globally. We are taking action now while the overall economy and job market are strong, increasing the ability of impacted employees to continue to advance in their careers, should they choose to do so," GM spokesman Pat Morrissey said, adding the bulk of the cuts should be completed in the next two weeks. Morrissey said GM would provide salaried workers with severance packages and job placement services.
