Up for auction today is a beautiful Chevrolet Express 1500 conversion van. This particular van comes from a fleet of other vans that belonged to a limousine company. It drives comfortably and rides smoothly on long road trips. The Interior features am/fm radio, a video cassette recorder, two dvd players (one is working and one is not), surround sound, a flip down TV screen, Power windows, Rear Air Conditioning, Center Console, Digital Clock, Power Mirrors, Tilt Steering Column, Third Row Seat, Interval Wipers, Custom Trim, Privacy Shades, Captain’s Chairs, Power sofa bed (does not fully recline flat), Wireless Headphones, Infinity Lighting, Power Steering, Reclining Bucket Seats, Keyless Entry, Trip Odometer, Map Lights, and Cup Holders. There are also passenger jacks used for charging or audio/video.

The exterior features Tinted Glass, Fender Flares, Ground Effects, Towing Package, Nice Wheels, New tires, Running Boards, Ground Lights, and Sherrod side lights.

As far as safety goes, the van has Anti-Skid Control, Passenger airbag, Driver airbag, Anti-lock brakes, Traction Control, Panic Button, Child-Proof Door Locks, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, Receiver Tow, Daytime Running Lights, Power Brakes, 3-Point Rear Seat Belts, and a Third Brake Light.

I personally have never had a problem from this van however there are a few maintenance items that must be tended to in the future. The first thing is that there is a crack in the windshield. Of course it does not affect the operation of the vehicle, but you certainly do not want to drive forever with a crack. This crack started out as a small one and expanded all the way across from left to right over the winter. The snow and cold caused this to happen. The weight of the snowfall and the cold made it inevitable. The second thing is that I have noticed antifreeze on the ground. I check the levels under the hood and it stays stable, but after a few days its low. I looked under the van but cannot locate where it is coming out from. The third is that the blower on the a/c sounds as if it’s needing inspection. It started to sound louder about a month ago. Besides that, this is a durable and dependable van. It will carry you from one state to another comfortably like an airline jet.

This van has 309, 920 miles on it and the majority of the miles were put on by chauffeuring customers to the airport and the city. As you may know, these vehicles are built to run far beyond 500,000 miles. I have ALL maintenance records for this vehicle. It has been serviced regularly and well maintained.

Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction ending. A NON-REFUNDABLE $500.00 deposit is due at the end of the auction and the total balance is due within 3 days. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it to the next highest bidder. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate.

Thank you for your interest and good luck in your bidding! This is a GREAT van!

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt

Fri, Oct 31 2014

The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well." North American Car, Truck and SUV of the Year finalists revealed

Thu, Nov 17 2022

The finalists for the 2023 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards were announced Thursday at the L.A. Auto Show. — The Acura Integra, Genesis Electrified G80 and Nissan Z made the cut in the car category. — The Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevy Silverado ZR2 and Lordstown Endurance advanced in trucks. — And the Cadillac Lyriq, Genesis GV60 and Kia EV6 advanced among utilities.  The winners will be announced Jan. 11 in Detroit.  The finalists underscored the industryÂ’s shift to electric vehicles, as all three utilities and two of the three trucks are EVs. The finalists were culled from a list of 26 semifinalists made up of three trucks, 10 cars and 16 utility vehicles that are new this year.  Notables that missed the cut include the Mercedes EQE, Subaru WRX and Toyota GR Corolla in cars; while the Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage and Rivian R1S were among the utes that did not advance. The three trucks are the only ones eligible this year and have advanced through the voting.  50 jurors who work for media outlets across North America vote three times over the course of the year to whittle down the field, which was originally 47 vehicles. Jurors also test the semifinalists at an October group event in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Honda Civic (car), Ford Maverick (truck) and Ford Bronco (utility vehicle) were the 2022 winners. 5 reasons why GM is cutting jobs, closing plants in a healthy economy

Tue, Nov 27 2018

DETROIT — Even though unemployment is low, the economy is growing and U.S. auto sales are near historic highs, General Motors is cutting thousands of jobs in a major restructuring aimed at generating cash to spend on innovation. It's the new reality for automakers that are faced with the present cost of designing gas-powered cars and trucks that appeal to buyers now while at the same time preparing for a future world of electric and autonomous vehicles. GM announced Monday that it will cut as many as 14,000 workers in North America and put five plants up for possible closure as it abandons many of its car models and restructures to focus more on autonomous and electric vehicles. The reductions could amount to as much as 8 percent of GM's global workforce of 180,000 employees. The cuts mark GM's first major downsizing since shedding thousands of jobs in the Great Recession. The company also said it will stop operating two additional factories outside North America by the end of next year. The move to make GM get leaner before the next downturn likely will be followed by Ford Motor Co., which also has struggled to keep one foot in the present and another in an ambiguous future of new mobility. Ford has been slower to react, but says it will lay off an unspecified number of white-collar workers as it exits much of the car market in favor of trucks and SUVs, some of them powered by batteries. Here's a rundown of the reasons behind the cuts: Coding, not combustion CEO Mary Barra said as cars and trucks become more complex, GM will need more computer coders but fewer engineers who work on internal combustion engines. "The vehicle has become much more software-oriented" with millions of lines of code, she said. "We still need many technical resources in the company." Shedding sedans The restructuring also reflects changing North American auto markets as manufacturers continue to shift away from cars toward SUVs and trucks. In October, almost 65 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. were trucks or SUVs. That figure was about 50 percent cars just five years ago. GM is shedding cars largely because it doesn't make money on them, Citi analyst Itay Michaeli wrote in a note to investors. "We estimate sedans operate at a significant loss, hence the need for classic restructuring," he wrote. The reduction includes about 8,000 white-collar employees, or 15 percent of GM's North American white-collar workforce. Some will take buyouts while others will be laid off.
