2000 Chevrolet Express Van 3500 V8 Auto 132k Cargo Van Needs Work No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Racine, Wisconsin, United States
2000 CHEVROLET EXPRESS 3500 CARGO VAN As pictured, this van is being offered to the high bidder by our local technical college. As you can see by the pics the van has some rust. It also has some mechanical issues. I was not able to test drive the van due to the flat, but it started easily and ran smooth at idle. The flat tire will be repaired or replaced for the new owner. Other items may need work as well. I have a 2013 report showing the van had a leaking transmission cooler line, leaking power steering pump, faulty stop switch, broken front sway bar, and differential leak from rear left wheel. Than van has been driven about 500 miles since the inspection and I do not know if any of those items have been repaired or if more issues have arisen since that time. It has AC, but did not blow cold. I have disclosed all issue I am aware of. Please bid accordingly, inspect the pics. I believe you will be able to drive the van from its current location, but cannot warrant it and no adjustment will be made in the event you need to tow or trailer it home. This could be a good work van for someone mechanically inclined. It's a one ton cargo van with 132.5k miles on it. Please note, a non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close and it must be picked up within 14 days of auction end. NO RESERVE! HIGH BIDDER WINS. Please make sure your finances are in order before bidding. If the purchase price is less than the non-refundable deposit amount, the winning bidder will only need to pay the purchase price. Please note, paypal payment is due 24 hours after auction end. Thanks! |

Recharge Wrap-up: Volt makes up third of Quebec Chevy dealerships sales, Tesla seeks Aussie talent
Wed, Nov 5 2014A Chevrolet dealership in Quebec has had the Volt make up 35 percent of its sales so far this year. Bourgeois Chevrolet in Rawdon, Quebec received recognition for the feat at the 2014 Electric Vehicle Conference, where it won the award for Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dealership. To sell that many, Bourgeois Chevrolet had to import used Volts from the US, and keeps about 50 units on the lot in various configurations. The conference also saw Park Avenue Nissan of Brossard, Quebec win the Leading Battery Electric Vehicle Dealership Award, and Loch Lomond Mitsubishi of Saint John, New Brunswick receive the award for Electric Vehicle Dealership Inspiration. Ford, General Motors and Toyota have announced that they will shut down their Australian factories, leaving behind a lot of unused talent. Tesla recently held a "Recruiting Open House" in Melbourne for engineers to fill positions at its plant in Fremont, CA, where they will be paired with other Aussie engineers already on staff. Valeo recently showed an electric turbo it plans to supply to an unnamed automaker at a fuel economy showcase event at the EPA's National Vehicle Emissions and Fuel Lab. Electric turbochargers have the advantage of greatly reduced lag when compared to exhaust-driven turbos. They also work well when paired with cylinder deactivation, providing a much-needed boost when driving on a grade, which can help reduce the need for cylinders to reactivate. Independence from the exhaust system also makes it easier to package the turbocharger wherever there is room. Read more from Navigant Research. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
