1995 Chevrolet G30 Ambulance Conversion Van on 2040-cars
Candia, New Hampshire, United States
Pros:
-Diesel engine (great for the mpg) -164k miles (diesel engines can go up to 300k if cared for). First 150K were in service as an ambulance. -Tires are in great shape and have plenty of life left in them (no spare included however) -Hooked up electrical (second battery for 12v appliances) to power your refrigerator, tv, adventure gear, etc. With a second battery. -Idle control (reserves power when idling, something only most ambulances have) -Storage galore: to help you keep things tidy, hide bodies, it's not my business what you do with your storage.. -Carfax report is clean, because it was an ambulance up until 2010 and serviced regularly -Frame isn't rusted. Since it's an ambulance, it was most likely garaged the first 15 years of its life -Fully insulated with ambulance grade fire, mold, and mildew proof insulation -Rear A/C to keep your sleeping quarters cool in the summer -Super bright interior ambulance lighting. Perform your own post fishing/hunting autopsies (aka: cleaning and gutting) ...they also have a dimmer setting if you want to set the mood.. -The outside floodlights not only work, they can be turned on for each side of the van individually - great for camping -Nasty vinyl flooring has already been pulled up for you so you can not only see that the subfloor is excellent, but you can also customize the floor to your liking. We were thinking easy to clean vinyl tile, but you can put in marble floors if you'd like. It's an ambulance--so it was built to carry heavy loads. -Wired up for speakers Cons: -Needs some work such as.. brakes: we bought them already and could throw them in the package too. rust: exterior body rust, minor stuff. We started repairing it but have run out of time. Again-- we could throw in the repair kits we got if you're willing to pay the price. Directionals are out door rust: Already bought new doors with hinged windows that will be included but need to be installed We are selling as we have run out of time to finish converting it for our XC move in August. Would love to see someone else make our dreams for its 2nd life a reality! Vehicle is located in Candia New Hampshire |

2014 Chevrolet Cruze TD fires up its new diesel motor
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Ever since General Motors confirmed plans to produce a diesel-powered Cruze back in 2011, we've been eagerly awaiting its arrival. And as part of the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet has pulled back the cover on its oil-burning compact sedan, set to go on sale in the near future with a starting price of $25,695, not including $810 for destination.
The heart and soul of the Cruze TD (that's its official name) is a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline four-cylinder engine rated at 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine also has an overboost function that will increase torque to 280 lb-ft for up to ten seconds. The full brace of official specs haven't been released, but GM tells us that highway fuel economy will come in at 42 miles per gallon. If that number sounds familiar, it's because the Volkswagen Jetta TDI has the exact same rating. Unlike the Jetta, however, the Cruze TD can run on B20 biodiesel, where as the Volkswagen can only accept B5.
Model-specific changes to this 2014 Cruze TD include an aero kit and unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's a full leather interior, and Chevrolet will provide two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, not to mention a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Compact SUV Comparison: Specs, pics and reviews of every brand's crossover
Wed, Jul 25 2018Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4. Chevy Equinox vs Ford Escape. Mazda CX-5 vs Subaru Forester. Whichever combinations of compact crossover SUV you're considering, there's probably a comparison test or chart out there to read. Heck, you can even create a three-car comparison yourself here at Autoblog. However, if you want a bunch of that information all in one convenient place, well, here it is. Our mega comparison of specs, features and photos of compact SUV entries from every mainstream manufacturer that sells them. That includes the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018 Ford Escape, 2018 GMC Terrain, 2018 Honda CR-V, 2018 Hyundai Tucson, 2019 Jeep Cherokee (it's already on sale with notable changes from 2018), 2018 Jeep Compass, 2018 Kia Sportage, 2018 Mazda CX-5, 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (none of Mitsu's SUVs are perfect fits for this segment, so we deemed the MEC the most competitive fit), 2018 Nissan Rogue, 2018 Subaru Forester, 2018 Toyota RAV4 and 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. We can update this comparison as more information about 2019 models is released, most notably the Forester and RAV4. Now, there are certainly some models that are smaller (Nissan Rogue Sport) or larger (Kia Sorento) that could also be considered, but we figured it was wise to stick with those in this sweet spot of comparable size and price. We also included links to Autoblog reviews, buying guides and smaller comparisons. Engines and Transmissions With rare exception, this segment features four-cylinder power. Sometimes it's turbocharged, often its not, but standard engine outputs are generally in the same ballpark. Therefore, we'd recommend focusing on torque output, as it's what will make a difference around town or when passing, and weighing that versus fuel economy (the Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 make particularly strong cases in this regard). Many drivers aren't too fond of continuously variable transmissions (CVT), either, so that's another thing to consider and note during a test drive. As you can see, several models are available with performance upgrades. Besides the Jeep Cherokee's available V6, all are more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The exception to this would be the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, as their 1.5-liter turbo engines don't prioritize performance. Instead, they serve as overall upgrades to the base naturally aspirated engines standard on only their base trim levels (CR-V LX and Escape S).
