All Original, Excellent Condition, Low Miles, Well Maintained. on 2040-cars
Tybee Island, Georgia, United States
When I bought this car 10 years ago it had only 71 original miles, and was in premium condition. I've had numerous El Caminos thru the years, but I've always hung on to this one., and been particular to it because I like the way it handles and feels on the road, I don't know how to convey the difference in the ride, but it's always been evident to me. It has always been regularly maintained and upkept by a licensed mechanic, and has no problems with the engine or chassis whatsoever. The interior is in excellent condition, no wear, no rips, no tears, no stains, or any other flaws. Very rarely has anyone even sat in the passenger seat. It is the original interior (Everything about this car is original, with exception to the cd player and toolbox). The toolbox in the bed was custom made by Delta Metals to fit this 87 El Camino, and it at the time cost $650.00 Other than the two small dings by the rear bumper which I described under "defects", and as shown in the pictures below; this truck has no problems. No rust, no leaks, no funny noises. Nothing. No surprises. The sole reason I am selling it is because I am getting too old to drive (92), and there's no point in just leaving it parked in the garage! The buyer of this car will be satisfied. Feel free to email me with any questions. |

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers
Sun, Dec 14 2014Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
