1987 El Camino Ss Oringinal Unrestored 1300 Actual Miles on 2040-cars
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
1987 El Camino Super Sport with 1307 (thirteen hundred and seven) original documented miles. This car has been displayed in Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum for the past year. It is totally original including paint, interior, wheels, tires, belts hoses, exhaust system, etc. Car has always been stored in a controlled environment. You will not find a better one anywhere! Was sold new at Marvin Ware Chevrolet in Kingwood, West Virginia. Bought from the dealership owner by my Grandpa in 1991, where it has remained since. It is a true SS with Z15 option code. Car has one small ding on the passenger side front fender, other than that the body and paint are flawless. It has never had anything hauled in the bed, nor has it had any aftermarket parts installed. It is truly how it rolled off the assembly line. The underside of the car is as nice as the top. Only surface flashing on original bare metal parts. Still retains its factory paint marks on the suspension and driveline. Also still has the part number sticker on the catalytic converter. Since new it has never spent a night outside or seen rain. It is one of the finest elcaminos of these years that you will find anywhere. It has never been shown competitively in a car show. It is a true time piece. Everything on the car works properly including the air conditioning, which was converted to R134A in 2006 by a local Chevrolet dealership. It drives like a brand new car (which it is). The battery is not original to the car, although it is an AC Delco and as close to correct as you will find. It also has had typical maintenance done to it, such as fluids and filter changes on a regular basis. This car has never been driven daily, nor was it bought to be put away and never seen again. It has been stored and maintained to be preserved as it was the day it was new. The pictures and my explanation of this car cannot begin to describe its quality. It is one of a very few mint condition, original low mileage cars. Remember, this car is 27 years old, and not one ounce of wear or tear. Engine is factory original 305 cubic inch V8, 2004R automatic transmission, 2.56:1 rear axle ratio. Power windows, power brakes, power steering, power door locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, bench seat, column shift, AM/FM cassette player, remote mirrors, air conditioning, factory rear air shocks, Below is a link to over 200 detailed photos of the car, including the undercarriage. http://s27.photobucket.com/user/hurstL78/library/87%20elcamino%20?sort=2&page=1 If you have questions, you can call me direct at: 859-274-8121. Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
