This is a beautiful rust free1986 Chevrolet El Camino, it was originally purchased new in Washington and spent its entire life there with the original owner until 2006 when it was purchased by its 2nd owner with around 65000 miles on it. After it was purchased it was driven until it had 67685 miles on it and he decided to make a few nice upgrades to it, it was repainted with beautiful burgundy and silver paint with pin stripes, fitted with a GM Ram Jet fuel injected 5.7 engine Part # 12499120, new flex plate Part # 14088765, electronic fuel pump mounted inside a new fuel tank with new lines and fittings Part # MSD 2225, a nice set of Edelbrock headers Part # 68782 and complete new exhaust with cats, along with all the misc filters, fittings and hoses it takes to make an upgrade like this. It has a fresh oil change along with a new performance built 700R4 transmission with less than 100 miles on it. Also installed is a torque converter lock up switch Part# 702444 and filter and fluid change. In 2007 it was fitted with a new carpet kit and new door moldings on the interior door trim. This car is in beautiful condition the pictures do not do it justice, the paint in the bed has no scratches and the glass is all good. This car came to Alaska and was only driven about 1000 miles only on the nicest of days, it lives in a heated garage and does not see winter or rain. I am the 3rd owner of this car, I bought it to have a nice Sunday cruiser but now my priorities have changed. I will take this car to Anchorage AK for shipping for the winning bidder, buyer pays for shipping!! Any questions email me and I will respond as soon as possible. |

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
