1982 Chevy El Camino Custom Paint And Interior, A Show Car Winner on 2040-cars

Year:1982 Mileage:85000
Location:

Athens, Alabama, United States

Athens, Alabama, United States

This El Camino spent most of the past 32 years in Nevada, the body is rust free and in exceptional condition for a 32 year old car. The engine runs fine for a 305, but if your looking for a race car, this is not the vehicle for you. Also, if your state requires emission testing; (ie: Texas) there are some emission controls that have been removed or disconnected for performance reasons. These controls, hoses and tubings will not be included in the sale.

Overall this car is a real headturner with the 20 inch chrome wheels and wide low profile tires and the very special deep bubble gum color that some call pink. The white and pink matching interior includes also customized leather buckets, (driver side is power) and the leather wrapped white dash. The white canvas bed cover with the pink Chevy bow-tie tops off the overall exceptional look of the car. If the magenta color is acceptable, then you will really love the added bling pink acryllic rhinestones on the door handles and rear cover buttons.

The car comes equipped with PS, PB, Power door locks and windows, keyless entry and alarm, Air conditioning and AM/FM/CD. New window and door seals have been installed and the AC system has a new compressor. The only inop gauges are the gas level gauge and clock.

The car has some minor scratches and dings here and there and it certainly is not being sold as if the car's paint was in perfect condition; if it were the reserve price would be doubled what it is.

Forza Motorsport 6's new drivable Hot Wheels cars are the best

Tue, May 3 2016

Each month, Turn 10 Studios releases a new car pack for the latest installment of its Forza Motorsport video game. Sometimes that means less-than-exciting stuff coming to our Xbox Ones – BMW X6M, bleh – but this time our inner seven-year-old is beyond ecstatic. Two of the seven cars are based on actual Hot Wheels models. And. They're. Awesome. First we have the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. Yes, there are flames on the side. And yes, there's a giant skull where the grille should be. This one came from the imagination of "Mr. Hot Wheels" Larry Wood, whose design was so popular it inspired an actual real-world creation. Like all good things in this world, it's powered by a small-block Chevy V8. Oh, and it has no roof. This will be a popular one among gamers. The other digitized Hot Wheels creation is a 2005 Ford Mustang. A modest vehicle, sure, but the toy designers have festooned this pony car with a wild paint scheme and the body mods to emphasize it. Originally developed to celebrate the 'Stang's 50th birthday, this Hot Wheels car trades Americana for wild Japanese style. There's just one functioning life-size version of this car in existence as well, but if you look hard, you might be able to find one of the 1:64 scale models that inspired it. Other highlights from this month's car pack include the latest Ford Focus RS – finally time to replace that NASCAR-V8-powered, all-wheel-drive 2009 Focus RS – the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the aforementioned X6M, and Alain Prost's 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car. The Hot Wheels Car Pack is available for download today. Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1

Wed, Aug 20 2014

Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
