1977 Chevy El Camino 350 5.7 Engine Pearl White Corvette Wheels Auto Low Miles on 2040-cars
Denver, Colorado, United States
Up for auction I have my 1977 Chevy EL Camino. we had it repainted back in 1998 pearl white. The paint job was done by a quality paint ship here in Denver Colorado and cost $3,200 to be painted back in 1998. I have not drove the pickup for about 2 years until 3 weeks ago when I decided to just let someone else enjoy her. I just put a new fuel pimp & fuel filter in and drove it to the car wash, and it drove like a dream. It could use a new oil change , but oil is clean but is 2 years old. And I would change the anti freeze. It also has a nice set of corvette wheels and Center caps and a nice set of $500 Hoosier tires with at least 70 % tread on all 4 tires. . the engine run's good has electronic ignition,. and a 4 barrel carb. the engine compartment is nice and clean like it should be. the underneath of the car is not rusted. The hood release pull inside the car might need replaced or just oiled it is super hard to pull after setting the last couple years. it has an automatic transmission that shifts smooth. the engine is still tight with no knocks no rattles no lifter noise, and does not smoke. there is a couple of small dings on the passenger side where a couple of bungie cord's let loose not bad can see in pic's. and the drivers side rear has some surface rust starting in the paint But not not rusted through. . The frontend is in good and does not pull form either side. This is a 37 year old pickup that is still is pretty good condition. The bench seat needs a seat cover or redone see pic's of the seat. . Both door panels are good. windows roll up and down just fine.. behind the seat is a cloth / carpet piece that covers the rear panel is starting to fall apart. and I got a quote from an local upholstery shop here in town for the front seat and rear carpet panel and it was $285 for both. behind the seat is a full size spare tire with original tire cover. There is a couple of cracked pieces of plastic in the car but nothing that cant be fixed or replaced. it will also need a new windshield and local price is $120 installed. The air conditioning belt was taken off by me about 5 years ago when it got frayed and just never replaced it so the air did work fine but I assume it will need a recharge .The pickup starts right up with 2 pumps of the gas pedal. The car is sold as is with no warranty. Shipping is up to the buyer. We will hold / store the pickup in our garage for up to 10 days after auction at no charge, but The EL Camino must be paid for in full within 48 hrs. after the Auction and a non refundable deposit of $200.00 must be paid with paypal within 24hrs No bs To cover listing and final value fees incase you back out.. . I have owned the pickup since 4/14/1993 and bought it from the original owner . it has been in COLORADO All its life and garaged kept. Please look close at all the pictures as part of the description. and ask any and all questions before you bid not after you one the auction please.. We have a clean clear Colorado Title. The car must be paid for is cash or bank transfer , no money orders not paypal only for deposit. no cashiers checks I also have an extra set of nice doors with electric windows I will let you have with the pickup. they are mint green the original color of the truck. the paint job did have all the door jams and underneath the hood painted and done right

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
