1970 El Camino - L48 350, 4spd, 3.31 12 Bolt Posi - Black Cherry - Build Sheet - on 2040-cars
Cave Creek, Arizona, United States
1970 El Camino - Came factory with a L48 350 motor. Non Matching but has correct HP 350 and the motor starts up and runs. Factory 4spd with 3.31 12 bolt posi rear end.
The original color is Black Cherry and that is a very rare and desirable color for this year, also came with a white vinyl top. The body looks to be pretty straight, has some very small dings but over all looks good, don't see any major rust. It looks like a good part of the El Camino has it's original old Black Cherry paint to the best of my Knowledge. The original interior is in fair shape, could use a interior kit. The original color is Saddle with Factory Buckets and Console, Tach and Gauges and original AM Radio. Still has it's factory Ralley wheels. This El Camino is very rare with the factory options it came with plus the rare Black Cherry Color. This is a great desirable year to fix up. This is a Arizona car and I have a clean Arizona title in hand with the original Build Sheet and lots of other original old paper work too. The El Camino has been in a Arizona dry storage for several years, so it would be wise to go through it before you drive it to far. I described the El Camino to the best of my Knowledge. Please email me anytime for any detailed questions about the El Camino, ask as many questions as you like. I will get right back with you. Please don't ask my reserve, bid to what you feel comfortable with and what you can afford. If serious, you can always make me a offer and we can deal from there. I can get you a great wholesale price on shipping. You can come view the El Camino at my house anytime with a appointment. Good luck bidding, thank you. |

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.
GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
