RE-LISTING due to non paying bidder.......... with lower reserve.

One very straight, clean 1965 El Camino. RARE factory options. Basically a one owner car from California, ended up in Idaho by original owner in his early 80's.

FACTORY remote driver's mirror.
FACTORY AM/FM radio.
FACTORY A/C,
FACTORY TILT WHEEL,
FACTORY SOFT RAY GLASS (light green), MINT CONDITION.
FACTORY VINYL TOP, (how many of those do you see? Needs replacing though).
V8 327. Runs fine.
TURBO GLIDE Tranny........ Just serviced, and shifts PERFECT.
FACTORY Power Steering.
FACTORY Power Brakes.
FACTORY 12 Bolt Rear End.

After market cruise control, and tach. Original color is SIERRA TAN, repainted, a root beer brown. The bed is straight......... protected by a serialized hard fiberglass tonneau cover. Old school Torque Thrust rims, with Toyo tires. All stainless is there, and straight.

CONS: Has minor dent by driver's side tail light, an easy fix, and has a primered tailgate with '66 emblem. One very fixable rust spot when you open passenger door, below door hinge, on top of rocker panel. Another small spot developing on panel behind driver's seat. Dimple in grille, and front bumper has some dents, otherwise straight. ALL ORIGINAL. A RESTORER'S/COLLECTOR'S dream! (NOTE: That is not rust on windshiels post).

PROS: The original owner from California was worried about rust issues being in snow country, and had the entire undercarriage heavily undercoated........... "twice", because he was so worried about snow. Snow doesn't (always) cause rust! Salt does. That was prior to the State of Idaho laying both salt on freeways, and Magnesium Chloride at intersections in city limits in 2002? So this Elky is pretty much RUST FREE. I have the original carb...... 4bbl, which was replaced with a Holley 4bbl electric choke, the original owner's "PROTECT-O-PLATE", and owner's manual. So, if you're looking to restore a '65, this one may be for you. Does not have typical rusted out quarters, or fenders.

I will add more pics soon.
Will assist with shipping, clear Idaho title in hand. Paypal or Cashier's Check..............No payment, No Elky. Sold "as is", "where is". Buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping. Seller reserves right to end listing at any time. No disappointments here, so serious bidders feel free to call with any questions at 2 zero 8 968 9729......... leave a message after the Magic Jack greeting! I'll return your call. Good luck bidding.

 ADDITIONAL:
To answer a few phone questions: No, the A/C is not ICE cold, but it's all there, it does blow cool in my 80 degree weather. There's a lot of play in the steering, an easy fix.
Paint looks WAY better in pics. than it really is. In dire need of COMPLETE paint, and vinyl top. Has rear air shocks, but has slow leak. I will "try" to fix, or replace before listing ends. Yes, the
tonneau cover opens, closes, and locks perfectly. It's in terrific shape for it's age, having only one minor chip. All panels are straight, and I cannot find any bondo anywhere. Quarters, fenders,
and floor boards are ROCK solid. All stainless is there, and very nice....... just needs polishing. Lighted glove compartment. Doors are solid, having no sagging hinges. Inner quarters are very solid. All glass is mint.
Bed has some dents on panel below driver's rear glass, otherwise VERY impressive. Try not to have any doubts about having to replace a typical '65 bed, beat up undercarriage, or rust issues.
This Elk fires up, rides, and sounds great. NO mechanical, or electrical issues. Nothing has been "hacked". What you see, is what you'll get. Pretty much bone stock. NOT a Show Car, or Hotrod (yet), but
the winning bidder will def. be proud to own, restore, or drive as is. I threw in a pic. of rare 1965 Z16, to show what this El Camino could like with a little imagination, a few thousand $$$,
talent, free time, and sweat. Nothing is perfect on these older cars. If you have a "zero" next to your Username, you'll have to call me prior to bidding. I hope I've described this '65 "Diamond in the Rough" as honest
as possible. I just want another fellow "Chevy Lover" to be happy.
NO disappointments here. Now is your time to call with any questions, or concerns before listing ends. Bid with confidence. GOOD LUCK................

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.

Thu, Jul 14 2022

All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Seeing the Detroit Auto Show via drone

Sun, Jan 18 2015

Seeing the Chevrolet display at the Detroit Auto Show is worth doing this year, and not just because of the new Corvette Z06, Volt and Bolt concept. In order to attract the new kids, The Bowtie has gone what the old kids used to call "buck wild" with their show stand at Cobo Hall. A Corvette Z06, Trax, and Colorado are parked along a central aisle, called Mainstreet, at the end of which is a 20-foot-tall, 73-foot long transparent screen lording over the new Volt. Elsewhere are five more 20-foot-tall screens broadcasting nine stories today's Chevrolet wants to tell about its vehicles, from performance to belief in the power of play to its 4G LTE-equipped OnStar telematics service. Then there are the social media and virtual reality safety installations, the community presentations and more. Chevrolet flew a drone through the stand to show off what it's doing, which is has replaced eye-level video as the next best thing to being there. You can check it out in the video above.
