FOR SALE MY 1964 CHEVY ELCAMINO, HUGGER ORANGE WITH BLACK INTERIOR..327 SMALL BLOCK CHEVY, RECENTLY REBUILT, AUTOMATIC TRANS.
I got this car a couple of months ago thru a renter not paying his storage bill on a warehouse rental. he gave me a clear Wisconsin title. The car is in really good shape..bottoms of doors and rockers are rust free..only rust on whole car is around the rear wheel wells and its not bad (see pics)..the car did not have a carb or door panels and needed to be put back together when i got it..I DID THE BEST I COULD PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER.  i put brand new door panels that he had on doors and put bucket seats out of a sunfire that fit nice and look good. I installed a Holley carb that i had and it will crank and run but needs adjusting. when i removed the valve covers to look inside them the engine looked brand new like it had never had oil run thru it..it has power steering..not power brakes..looks like it has a steering colum from a newer GM car in it..tires are fair and it has nice wheels..there is no rust inside bed but the inner fenders from rear were missing and i ordered 2 new ones but someone stole them sitting beside car over night..so they did not make it on the car..it wont take much to have a really nice driver.. i am starting bid off at 2499.00 and a buy it now of 4900.00 . i dont think i would drive it home it needs to be gone thru buy someone who knows vehicles first..
I will not accept bids from anyone with no feedback or that has negative feedback in the last month or so. i will require a 500.00 immediate deposit thru paypal and balance due in 5 days. you can pick car up any day from 8am to 5 pm.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

Chevy Cruze CNG available from Crazy Diamond Performance

Thu, Aug 7 2014

Anyone out there who can somehow find a second way to link Pink Floyd to natural gas vehicles gets a prize. Because so far, we have one Michigan-based company called Crazy Diamond Performance (Shine On You Crazy Diamond being a longtime Floyd fave) that's setting out to convert Chevrolet Cruze vehicles to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). All in the name of cheaper fuel and domestic security, of course. Crazy Diamond says it can offer a converted CNG-powered Chevy Cruze for a price as low as $26,000. That four-cylinder version has 130 horsepower and an 8.5-gasoline-gallon-equivalent capacity that provides a full-tank range of as many as 250 miles. Pony up another $2,000 or so and the peppier, turbocharged CNG Cruze can be yours. The company says it will provide a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and is trying to get EPA certification for its conversions. The selling points are cheaper fuel (CNG is about half the cost of regular gasoline in some parts of the country) and homeland security (CNG reduces dependence on foreign oil). The only production passenger vehicle CNG in the US is the Honda Civic CNG, which sells in very limited numbers. Check out Crazy Diamond's flyer here.
