I have decided to sell my beautiful 1960 El Camino. Retired and downsizing. To many classic cars, not enough time to maintain and drive them all. This EC really is an Arizona vehicle. Bought new in Tuscon. It spent most of its life in Sierra Vista, AZ  where it was restored. A total frame off restoration with no patch panels in the expected rust areas. The bottom is painted in Platinum Metallic and the top is Confederate Metallic.  It will change colors and shades with different exposure to light. The grille is chrome plated and really stands out. The EC has a painted frame and underbody and everything is new or rebuilt. It sports 2" dropped spindles with power disc brakes up front. Front and rear stabilizer bars, new gas tank with locking cap, custom spare tire rack with full size spare fitted neatly under bed with easy access. Ididit tilt column with gray carrara leather steering wheel which matches the red and gray cloth and vinyl bucket seats and console. Stock red door panels and headliner with factory gray style carpet. Am-Fm/cassette player installed in factory dash position(not cutting). With the spare mounted under the truck, there is plenty of room behind the seats for luggage, storage or shopping needs. Speaking of storage, inside the Rhino lined bed with the diamond plate insert is a storage compartment for tool, jacks and any other accessories. It is located where the rear foot well would be in the station wagon chassis. It is accessed though a door that runs the width of the diamond plate insert." Very handy"

The 325HP 350 crate motor has 4k on it. The stock 283 just didn't have enough power for all the creature comforts. It breathes through GM  ramhorn headers to a new aluminized exhaust system. She has GM power steering, PDB, vintage AC/HEAT/DEFROST with factory control operation. New 2 row aluminum radiator, 3100 CFM electric FLEX FAN unit with modular control function. I installed a new 3:55 stock gear to compliment the 700R4 and the new 17" tires with American spoke wheels(2250 RPM's @ 70MPH). This wide track beauty drives and handles like a dream. No leaning, no pulling, no drifting. A real pleasure to drive. Adjust the bucket seats to your liking and cruise at highway speeds all day in comfort. If you chose to enter a car show, be prepared to take home a trophy. She has won several. I know I have forgotten many other features of the El Camino, but the pictures will speak for themselves. Any question, please contact me though EBAY email or we can arrange to talk person to person if you wish. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. No tire kickers, scammers, or EBAY game players. I do not need help with the sale, the El Camino will sell itself.
May you and yours be richly blessed,
Happy bidding

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years

Wed, Jun 25 2014

A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
