1959 Chevrolet Elcamino Hotrod Streetrod Custom 59 Chevy El Camino 2wd on 2040-cars
Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, United States
This awesome rod was built by me about ten years ago, and I saved most reciepts to show for it. It's a 2WD 59 Elcamino that the suspension and motor crossmember were removed and a 1982 Chevy fullsize 1/2 ton pickup frame was put under it and welded both together. That's the only reason for the reconstructed title. No accidents. Drives like a dream. Everything works. Original speedometer, gas gauge, and temp gauge. Aftermarket battery, oil, and tachometer gauges. The paint is heavily metal flaked basecoat/clearcoat. The motor is from a 1973 Nova, 350 with an Edelbrock 600 4 barrel carb, manual choke. Runs excellent, would drive it anywhere. Transmission is a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic with floor shift. Manifolds (not headers), 2 1/2 inch stainless steel dual exhaust, with Cherry Bomb glasspacks. Frony suspension rebuilt & aligned about 1 1/2 years ago. Tailgate still opens. Always passes inspection. Currently inspected til 09/14. Rear tires new, front ones good. P215/60R15's, new P275/60R15's in rear. 1968 Nova posi rear. Power steering and brakes. Cragar S/S's held up great so far. Garaged mostly, but has seen rain and snow. Body is getting a few Bondo bubbles, but nothing major. Original grille is in great shape and goes with it. Bed cover was also custom made by me. Its a fiberglass one piece that opens like a hood with actual hood hinges. I also have, FOR AN EXTRA $2000, almost another 59 Elcamino. New doors, fenders, and quarter panels, used bumpers, extra glass, tailgate, chrome, and many many small items. Will not seperate unless the new owner doesn't want them. Want more or better pictures? Ask. I'm at FIVEsevenZEROsevenFOURzeroONEtwoFOURsix.

2016 Chevrolet Spark gleams in green in New York
Fri, Apr 3 2015Take one look at the 2016 Chevrolet Spark that's debuting at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and you can immediately see that the little hatchback is growing up. The previous long headlights and tall greenhouse are gone in favor of a slightly more conventional look that suits the enlarged overall size well. To address complaints about a lack of power from the current Spark's 1.2-liter engine, the latest model gets a larger 1.4-liter unit making 98 horsepower. It can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission, but for those looking to maximize fuel economy, a CVT offers an estimated 40 miles per gallon highway fuel economy. Beyond the new engine, there's an upgraded platform underneath with a longer wheelbase. The underpinnings are also more rigid, as well, to help improve handling and lower interior noise. Inside, the Spark now gets some physical controls to go along with the seven-inch MyLink infotainment system. A rearview camera is standard, which seems almost unnecessary is such compact model, and buyers can further enhance safety with tech like a Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Spot Alert. Check out the gallery above to see the Spark in its nuclear green paint at the New York show before the little hatch arrives at dealers in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A.
