Corvettes should only be available in one color, and one color only....bright, bright, Fire Engine Red!  Known as "Torch Red" in 1996, this gorgeous, unmolested Corvette still wears it's original black top and features an awesome matching red leather interior!  Never satisfied with the status quo, the Corvette's owner chose to accent the perfect factory color scheme with an awesome set of aftermarket chromed alloy wheels....the result is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!  (By the way, I hand-waxed this car today [Meguiars Paste Wax] and this paint is about the nicest factory finish I've ever seen...no car wash swirls or scratches...virtually perfect!)

My friend Paul bought this car from Gateway Chevrolet in Fargo, ND in September of 2000, with only 30,000 miles on the odometer.   Since then, he has driven it sparingly and responsibly (mostly on longer vacation trips), serviced it regularly and kept it inside when not being driven.  It's never been hit, never been smoked in, never been abused and commands attention wherever it's driven.

It starts easily, idles smoothly, has PLENTY of power, shifts smoothly, rides firmly with no shimmy, no shake, no rattles or shortcomings of any kind.  Every single option on this car works perfectly, as it did the day it came off the line.  A/C, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, 300 HP 5.7 Liter Multi-Port Fuel Injected Engine, Automatic Transmission with Overdrive, Delco-Bose AM/FM/Cassette/CD, Power Driver's Seat, Multi-Position Lumbar Support (both seats), Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, and much, much more!

SHORTCOMINGS:  The car has an exceptional finish, but does have a handful of small nicks and/or chips in the paint.  There is also a single door ding on the door guard molding of the passenger door.  Also, the vertical weatherstripping on the convertible top (where the side-windows seal against the top) is weather-checked on both sides (but still water-tight).

We want you to be absolutely comfortable and confident when bidding on this Classic American Sports Car so don't hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions or want to arrange a test-drive or inspection (Jon at 701-840-8038).

If you want to fly in and drive her home, we'll gladly pick you up at the Fargo, ND airport (FAR).  If you wish to have the car shipped, we will accommodate your shipper any way we can.

Check my feedback and bid with confidence...NO DISAPPOINTMENTS HERE!

GM admits goal of 500,000 EVs by 2017 won't be met

Sat, May 9 2015

After a little over four years of Chevy Volt sales, General Motors has a better handle on how many people it expects will buy cars with plugs. And it's less than the company thought back in 2012, when then-senior vice president of global product development, Mary Barra, said that GM expected to sell 500,000 "vehicles with electrification" by 2017. In a sustainability report released this week, GM says that half-million vehicle target will not be met but that it still, "believes the future is electric." In the report, GM says that, "For our commitment to electrification, our forecasted outlook currently projects us, along with the broader automotive industry, falling short of expectations for 2017. ... We continue to aspire to our stated goal." GM's electric lineup includes the Volt, the recently popular Spark EV, the slow-selling Cadillac ELR and upcoming Malibu Hybrid, CT6 plug-in hybrid and eAssist technology in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. GM says it has 180,834 electrified vehicles on the road in the US today. In 2013, it had 153,034; 95,578 in 2012, and 39,843 in 2011. The company's next big plug-in vehicle will be the second-gen Chevy Volt, which is coming to market later this year, followed by the 200-mile Bolt EV coming, we think, in 2017. GM Employees on Mission to Transform Transportation Sustainability report outlines vehicle and manufacturing progress; sets new targets 2015-05-07 DETROIT – General Motors' just-released sustainability report chronicles efforts by the company's 216,000 employees to live out GM's newly defined purpose and values by earning customer loyalty, applying meaningful technology advances and improving the communities where it does business. These actions – led by CEO Mary Barra – further drive sustainability into the company's culture through building safer and smarter vehicles with less environmental impact. "GM will take a leading role in the auto industry's transformation as it undergoes an unprecedented period of change," said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president, GM Global Public Policy. "From GM's labs to its assembly lines, our people are driving the world to a better place through improved mobility." The company believes the future is electric, with billions of investment to support an all-in-house approach to the development and manufacturing of electrified vehicles. It now counts 180,834 on the road in the U.S – up from 153,034 in 2013.

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.
