Chevrolet: Corvette Base Coupe 2-door on 2040-cars
Logan, New Mexico, United States
I have a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. I have had this car for about six months. I purchased it from a gentlemen that purchased new in 2006. He wanted to get something a little bit more comfortable for him and his wife. This car is in excellent shape. There are no dings dents or scratches. There are some minor rock chips in the front bumper, hood, mirrors and along the rocker panel but other than that it is perfect. This car has been babied its whole life. It has always been garaged kept. It is in almost new condition in the interior. All maintenance that has been done is documented in the manual. This gentlemen really went above and beyond when it came to the care of this vehicle. Here is a list of upgrades he had done: Varram IntakeCeramic Break PadsBilstien HD ShocksNew GM End Links3.42 Gears(Chuck Cow)Z06 Fuel Pump(Chuck Cow)Ron Davis Radiator w/Trans Cooler(Chuck Cow)Edelbrock Supercharger 1594- 599HP (Chuck Cow)Z06 Rear SpoilerFlowmaster X Pipe Exhaust w/Manga Flow TipsUpgraded Sway BarsHeat/Sound Deadner throughoutFloor MatsNew WindshieldI am sure that I am missing a couple of things, but this car is great. I took it to a local Corvette hope here locally (Scottys Southwest Corvettes) and had them to a once over. They said that everything is in exceptional shape and that all of the upgrades and add ons were done perfectly. When I bought it I thought that it shifted weird into second, but they told me that that is how it is supposed to shift because the adjusted the tranny for the supercharger. All in all this is a beautiful and powerful car. Take the traction control off and you will have one heck of a ride. If you like the sleeper look then this is the car for you. The couple of times I have taken it out we have had the opportunity to see and feel the power of this vehicle.

Seeing the Detroit Auto Show via drone
Sun, Jan 18 2015Seeing the Chevrolet display at the Detroit Auto Show is worth doing this year, and not just because of the new Corvette Z06, Volt and Bolt concept. In order to attract the new kids, The Bowtie has gone what the old kids used to call "buck wild" with their show stand at Cobo Hall. A Corvette Z06, Trax, and Colorado are parked along a central aisle, called Mainstreet, at the end of which is a 20-foot-tall, 73-foot long transparent screen lording over the new Volt. Elsewhere are five more 20-foot-tall screens broadcasting nine stories today's Chevrolet wants to tell about its vehicles, from performance to belief in the power of play to its 4G LTE-equipped OnStar telematics service. Then there are the social media and virtual reality safety installations, the community presentations and more. Chevrolet flew a drone through the stand to show off what it's doing, which is has replaced eye-level video as the next best thing to being there. You can check it out in the video above.
GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
