Chevrolet Corvette 2lz on 2040-cars
Stevensville, Maryland, United States
This is my 2006 Z06 Corvette with a new Doug Rippie Motorsports engine with 709 naturally aspirated horsepower!! It also has mild to wild exhaust system with wireless remote. It allows you to change the flow and noise level with a push of a button. Sounds like an Indy car going down the road - very unique! The professionally built LS7 427 has West Coast Corvette stage 2 heads FAST 102 mm Intake Manifold, 102 mm throttle body, Big Comp Cam 242/250 650/650, 110lsa. Full KOOK long tube headers with X-pipe, etc. This car is so easy to drive, still get an incredible 20 miles to the gallon and all the luxuries - factory navigation, heads-up display, satellite radio, all power options. This is an incredible looking, sounding and crazy fast Z06. I take top notch care of my cars. There is less than 9,000 miles on brand new engine and I just installed new battery, factory starter and alternator at Waldorf Chevrolet. There is 64,000 miles on car but it looks like 10,000. It is as close to new condition as one could hope for. It has run 10.39 140 mph in 1/4 mile at MIR Raceway. GET YOU SOME OF THAT MR. 2015 Z06 at a cost of over $100,000!!! You can buy my car for less than half of that! And that 1/4 mile pass I made, was my one and only. That's pulling gears not paddle shifting like the new one. Go to YouTube and search - 2006 C6 Corvette with mild to wild exhaust. You can hear my car's exhaust. I have owned this car since 2012, made many upgrades and kept this car in a heated/air conditioned garage.

Chevy bringing updated Equinox to Chicago
Fri, Feb 6 2015An updated Chevy Equinox will be revealed at next week's Chicago Auto Show, the automaker confirmed Friday in a press release. The debut of the updated, 2016 Equinox comes on the heels of the midsize crossover – pictured above in its current, 2015-model-year form – posting its best January sales month ever. No details have been released, but Chevy did send out the teaser image you see at right, showing an updated front fascia with new headlamps and LED running lights. This update for the Equinox can't come soon enough. The midsize crossover segment is huge right now, and Chevy's player has largely been unchanged since the second-generation Equinox debuted in 2009. When asked about when we might see a tweaked version of the GMC Terrain – the Equinox's sibling – a General Motors spokesperson could not confirm any specific timing. In any case, we'll bring you all the official details of the new Equinox when it shows its updated face, next week. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?
Thu, Jun 23 2016The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose!
