If you have a short attention span, this posting is not for your - i
tried to be as detailed in my description as possible; everything you
want to know about the car is listed below. Please read before
texting/calling - I will ignore questions that I've already answered.
Thank you:
My very special Corvette is for sale. Please don't assume you are looking at a stock C6 Z06, it will take the right buyer to appreciate this car. I will guarantee that pictures will not do this car any justice as it's difficult to capture the quality of the fit and finished product. Here are some of the alterations worth mentioning: the car was completely stripped down and each panel was painted inside out with the very expensive and rare Satin Balloon White, a color and paint available on a Lamborghini Murci'elago LP670-4 SV. This paint job cost well over $10k, so expect perfection. In person you will notice a satin finish pearl white effect, very complementary to the factory Z06 body lines and wide hips. The suspension has been lowered on the factory bolts and the exterior is topped off with a few aerodynamic add-ons, such as: LG Motorsports carbon fiber front splitter, Kaetech carbon fiber rear spoiler (painted to match for a cleaner look), along with the full carbon fiber side skirts. Mechanically the car is stock, never having the handbuilt 7.0 L factory engine altered in any way internally. It is a stock with the exception of an Vararam air intake system and a LG Motorsports GT4 exhaust system. The car has been dyno tuned professionally by the best in the industry at a great expense with the best return - LSX Performance Dyno Tuning near Houston TX. Videos and pictures are provided to document the entire progress of this build, including the dyno charts showing the INCREDIBLE 512 rwhp (to the rear tire, not to the crank) and 511 lb/ft tq. The factory "505" crank hp is approximately 430-440 rwhp. The tune is extremely conservative and safe yet IMPRESSIVE and reliable. I've never had a check engine light show up nor any mechanical issues whatsoever. The interior is in new condition... completely stock and original with the exception of an aftermarket Pioneer double din headunit (to replace the factory navigation) powering the factory BOSE stereo. It's top of the line with phone controls, pandora, bluetooth, etc. You may notice two different sets of wheel/tire combo's in the pictures. The larger diameter wheels and tires are ADV.1 wheels, custom built for this car (ADV15 track spec wheels in titanium finish - 3 piece forged) in a 20x10 front and 21x13.5 rear setup. They are wrapped in Pirelli tires with 375/20r21 rears - this means 15" of contact patch per tire, for a solid 30" of grip/traction. This set of wheels is quite dear to me and is an optional upgrade to the sale as I would prefer to keep them. If you opted out of this wheel setup, the alternate option is also pictured below - the factory set of c6z06 wheels (with proper spacers for fitment), just stripped and powdercoated professionally in a similar finish as the ADV.1 wheels. The tires will be nearly new, including a pair of Khumo track drag radial 335's on the rear (even more traction than the Pirelly 375's). The $40k asking price is with the factory 18-19 Z06 wheels as mentioned above. If you decide to purchase the car with the ADV.1 wheels, the asking price is $52k. I realize it's a significant markup for wheels, yet I can't stress how expensive this set was to purchase. I am open to reasonable trade offers, not particularly limited to any "genre"; nearly anything offered would be considered, provide the value of the trade is set fairly. Clean and clear title, carfax, owner's manuals, receipts and both key fob's and factory keys in hand. No joy rides and please don't waste my time or yours if you don't have the funds available; I am not rushing to sell, I still daily drive it and love every minute of it. 2006 year model, 70ish k miles, 6sp, 7.0L 427ci LS7 motor. All service up to date. The car needs ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, it's ready for daily driving or a cross country trip, and OF COURSE, the TRACK (this car has not once been on a track). I still get 31-32 mpg on most hwy trips. This car has been in several publishings and is being used on a regular basis for photoshoots, please expect an overwhelming amount of attention to come with the purchase of this vehicle. Car is located in Raleigh NC (27616). Please call or text with ANY QUESTIONS or OFFERS - 919-264-2007. Available anytime. Pictures are CURRENT and EXACTLY as posted. RECAP $40000 with stock wheels or $52000 with ADV1 wheels. |

Chevy Crossvolt name kept alive in new trademark application
Fri, Dec 26 2014In April 2011 General Motors submitted a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the word "Crossvolt." In November of this year, the application expired for lack of a statement of use. But in August of this year, GM applied again for the same trademark, leading some to believe that it intends to apply the name to a vehicle. That vehicle could explain the mule in sliced-and-diced Chevrolet Orlando bodywork caught in several spy shots this year, theorized to be some kind of Toyota Prius V or Ford C-Max Hybrid competitor; or it could be a production version of the Chevrolet Volt MP5 concept showed off at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010, which was about the same size as the Chevy Orlando. Or it could be none of those things – but the fact that Chevrolet is keeping it current makes us believe it will be... something. 24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
