  2005 Z51 Corvette

-Only 57k mostly highway miles.
-6.0 Liter 400hp/400lb torque LS2 motor 0-60 in 4.2 seconds engine.
-This car has been babied and properly cared for: Hand waxes, oil changes every 1500 or so miles, many receipts. Mobil 1 oil, premium gas.
-Never raced, never abused. Properly broken in, all required services always performed on time and most if not all paperwork retained. Mechanically the cars entire power train is as good as new I'd say.
-nearly new Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval runflat tires have only about 10k miles on them.

Reason for sale: I'm pursuing a doctoral degree and living on high interest student loans that are quickly spiraling out of control. I wish I was in a position to keep it but my loss is your gain.

  Factory Options:

-Z51 Performance package (includes larger cross-drilled brake rotors, performance tuned stabilizer bars, springs, shocks, gear ratios)
-Beautiful Lemans Blue special paint on Ebony Black leather interior
-Premium Bose 7 speaker audio system with in-dash 6 cd changer.
-Auto-dimming power mirrors
-Auto-dimming rear view mirror has integrated digital compass and homelink transmitter.
-power telescoping steering wheel.
-heated power memory seats with adjustable tension

  Cosmetic
Upgrades and Extras:
-Zoomers all billet full exhaust system installed at 30k miles (pipes look great and it sounds fantastic!)
-White Faced Gauges.
-body color z06 spoiler
-flat black powder coated stock wheels (not cheap aftermarket replicas).
-5% tint rear, 35% tint windows
-Black decals over emblem further lend to black out stealth look.
-Black "corvette" banner lettering on windshield, very subtle.
-Black "Jake Skull" decal on fuel door.
-Clear front side markers
-Tinted rear side markers
-Red "Corvette" lettering inlay decal in rear fascia indented lettering
-Eagle eye led "halo" tail lights with Corvette Enhancements Black Cherry color treatment (2 LED's are out though).
-Momo Italy custom shift knob.
-Cags skip shift eliminator eliminates annoying factory lockout of 2nd and 3rd gears from 1st gear at low speeds (A feature GM included to avoid gas guzzler labeling).

  More Extras also Included:
-Very nice black rear organizer with corvette emblem (not pictured but included).
-Loyd embroidered floor mats with embroidered corvette lettering and emblem.
-Storm proof two tone blue/black car cover with embroidered corvette emblem in front.
-flat black powder coated perforated steel sidevent grills (not currently installed but included).

  History:
-Ordered new from dealer and properly broken in by my father for first 4,000 miles, then title transferred to me in 2006.

-The cars front bumper was re-finished and front left headlight replaced after a minor parking lot accident (not my fault) at around 20k miles. You'd never guess by looking that anything ever happened and       there was no mechanical damage what soever.
-The water pump was replaced at 35k miles so it's pretty fresh.
-AC control unit was replaced also under warranty so that is fairly new as well.

Flaws for the nitpicker & Minor things to fix:
-Front tire pressure sensors read 0 from cockpit, not sure if they need an electronic reset or replacement.
-Rear left fender has 2 tiny marks on it about 1-2 cm long from a kid who hit it with his bicycle handle bar and didn't stick around to claim responsibility  (see pics hard to see and not bad at all).
-Windshield has tiny mark from pebble hit, minor windshield repair service will fix it.
-Front left wheel had minor curb damage repaired prior to powercoating (see pics, not bad at all).
-Far right LED tail light has 2 LEDS that are out. Sorry the factory tail lights are gone and unavailable with this listing.
-There has been a recent issue where sometimes the car refuses to start from the cockpit (the fix has thus far been either to disconnect and reconnect the battery to "reset the car" or manually squeezing the            ignition solenoid from the fuse box).
-The passenger side sun visor needs replacement due to a cracked mirror housing (a passenger was nice enough to raise the window on the visor). The visor works fine but the mirror housing is broken.

  Personal Notes:
-All in all the issues it has are minor and it just needs a little attention to get it looking and acting tip top.
-All in all a truly beautiful car, the colors are right and it has just enough cosmetic extras to make it look stealthy and mean and sound great. It gets attention everywhere you take it, and wait until you hear it,      it truly sounds great -the way a corvette should sound.
-No modifications were ever done to the power train, never had a desire to mess with perfection.

Local pickup in North Myrtle Beach NC, or I can transport it to Lillington NC for pickup if desired. If you require shipping we'll work it out after the auction but bear in mind while bidding that buyer is            responsible for all shipping costs.

Thank you for your interest and happy new year!

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

GM Recalls 218,000 Chevy Aveo Models Over Fire-Prone Lighting

Wed, May 21 2014

The recall train keeps on rolling for General Motors. Hot on the heels of its recent 2.4 million-vehicle recall of various models, it's now calling in 218,000 Chevrolet Aveo units from the 2004-2008 model years because they could catch fire. The problem concerns the daytime running light module in the instrument panel. It could overheat, melt and cause a fire. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, "We are aware of some fires," and the company "is still investigating." Adler wouldn't comment about how many fires were reported or when the automaker was first aware of this issue because of the ongoing analysis. However, he said the issue has not caused any injuries or fatalities. GM also doesn't have a fix for the problem with the DRL module yet. The company says in its recall statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the remedy "is still under development." Adler wasn't sure when it would be ready, but he said Aveo owners would receive notification in the mail "relatively soon." They will receive a second letter later to schedule the repair. In a separate letter about the Aveo's problem to NHTSA (viewable here as a PDF), GM said its Executive Field Action Decision Committee decided to conduct the recall on May 16. Scroll down for the recall report. RECALL Subject : Daytime Running Light Module Overheating Report Receipt Date: MAY 19, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V261000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 218,000 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo vehicles equipped with daytime running lights (DRL). In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the center console in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module. CONSEQUENCE: If the DRL module melts due to the heat generation, it could cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: The remedy for this recall campaign is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). General Motors recall number for this campaign is 14236. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

GM laying off more than 4,000 workers Monday morning

Sat, Feb 2 2019

According to reports from Automotive News, The Detroit News, and CNN, General Motors plans to begin laying off more than 4,000 salaried workers starting Monday morning. In a statement to AN, a spokesperson for the automaker said, "We are not confirming timing. Our employees are our priority. We will communicate with them first." We've been expecting layoffs at General Motors since November, 2018. At the time, the Detroit-based automaker announced it would seek to shed 8,100 salaried employees, shut down five assembly plants in North America, and kill off several slow-selling models. One month earlier, GM offered buyout packages to 18,000 workers and said it would seek to cut its global workforce by 25 percent. A spokesperson said at the time the moves were "proactive steps to get ahead of the curve by accelerating our efforts to address overall business performance." The cost-cutting moves are expected to save GM up to $2.5 billion in 2019 and as much as $6 billion by 2020. David Kudla, CEO and chief investment strategist of Mainstay Capital Management, referred to the impending culling as "Black Monday" and told The Detroit News that the layoffs would begin around 7:30 a.m. and continue in waves throughout the coming days and weeks. GM plans to deliver on its fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 earnings report on Wednesday. President Donald Trump plans to deliver the annual State of the Union address a day earlier on Tuesday. We expect to hear plenty more from both sides over the next several days.
