2005 Chevrolet Corvette Base Coupe 2-door 6.0l No Reserve on 2040-cars
Naples, Florida, United States
NO RESERVE. Stunning black on black corvette. I bought the car about a month ago from a middle aged corvette enthusiast who was the original owner. He put a Borla exhaust on the car and an upgraded air intake. He also added a radar detector and a trunk based cd changer. The car has obviously been babied from day one. Had car checked out at Chevrolet dealer and passed with excellent marks in every single category. The paint on the car looks like new. The interior is about a 9. There is some incipient wear on the driver's side bolster that you usually see in Corvettes. Car has a great sound and is extremely responsive and fast. The car is beyond a head turner and gets immediate attention wherever I drive. If you want a c5 at a bargain price, this car is for you. I am in no rush to sell and in not in need of the funds. Sale is "as is" with no warranties. As an added note, the former owner informed me that the car was detailed every single month since purchase. You will not be surprised when you see the car. Also, the original muffler comes with the car if desired. Lastly, the original owner told me that very rarely the car will fail to start due to an unknown reason. He advised to disconnect and reconnect the battery to solve this problem. No electrical issues were found in the dealer inspection I commissioned. The dealer report is available upon request. Cash only. Local pick up only. Thank you. On Jan-04-14 at 07:11:04 PST, seller added the following information: I have, in the last couple of days, had an issue with the car. The radio and cd intermittently does not play and other sounds in the car are inoperative as well. I am bringing the car to the dealer on Monday to see what is involved in a repair. For this reason I am ending the auction early. I will relist when this issue is resolved. I apologize for the inconvenience but I don't want to sell a car with issues. Please email with any questions. |

2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same
Sat, Jul 19 2014The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.
Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. 2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
