2002 Supercharged Z06 Corvette Caravaggio Widebody Convertible Conversion on 2040-cars
Valparaiso, Indiana, United States
Rare Caravaggio widebody, convertible, Z06 Corvette. This three-owner car has just over 10k miles from new. The body and interior is a drivable form of art work created and built by custom coachbuilder John Caravaggio of Caravaggio Corvettes. It is one of only 39 Caravaggio widebody Corvettes, only 10 of which were convertibles, of which only 3 were Z06 convertible’s. This car was featured in Vette magazine, December 2012 issue, and commands attention wherever it goes. Its stunning and curvaceous body is painted in Ferrari Rosso Corsa red paint, while the interior is wrapped in sumptuous Ferrari tan leather. The supercharged LS6 engine, which was recently tuned by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, has an output of 456 rwhp and 411 rw torque. The exhaust exits through a custom exhaust system, designed and installed by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. The car rides on HRE 3-piece modular wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires, 275/30ZR19 on the front and 345/25ZR20 on the rear. The Kenwood CD receiver features front USB and iPod ports and is Bluetooth capable. This is a rare opportunity to own a limited edition coachbuilt car which is sure to accelerate in value as time goes on (remember Baldwin-Motion, Yenko, and Nickey). ***Please ask questions, if you have any. *** ***** I have this car listed locally for sale and reserve the right to end this listing early.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Detroit Auto Show [w/poll]
Wed, Jan 14 2015Here at Autoblog, we love unexpected debuts at auto shows – and judging by our Detroit Auto Show comments and traffic, you do, too. Surprise reveals have been fewer and farther between in recent years with so many ways for vehicles to be teased or leak out, but this week's show has been a revelation. More to the point, it's been a series of revelations, with automakers from around the globe successfully delivering a brace of concept and production surprises. It's made our jobs a lot more exciting and challenging this week, and even though it's actually more work to react and run-and-gun when the sheet is pulled on a surprise reveal than it is to publish an already-written embargoed story, we've had more fun covering this show for you than any domestic show in memory. We hope you've enjoyed the surprises along with us. To that end, borrowing the words of an unnamed automaker PR flack, we'd like to thank the following automakers for enduring "mountain of antacids" and that "creeping sense of paranoia" necessary to keeping ones' wares totally under wraps until the sheets are pulled off the sheetmetal: Buick Avenir concept Chevrolet Bolt concept Ford GT concept Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hyundai HCD-15 Santa Cruz concept And while we're at it, we'd like to throw in an shout-out to Detroit's substantially revised and revitalized Cobo Center, and in particular, the redone Michelin media center, which is arguably the single best accommodations for writing show stories that we've encountered on the entire international circuit. Well done, everyone. Thank you, and keep the surprises coming. Auto News Detroit Auto Show Buick Chevrolet Ford Hyundai Volvo 2015 Detroit Auto Show
