Here is your chance to own an amazing car at a fraction of what the Corvette lists for!
The car has a "rebuilt title"
Pleas see below for all information regarding the vehicle, vehicle condition, and the details behind the title.
Sorry for the long read, but I love this car and am a perfectionist of sort and I believe an interested party would appreciate as much information as possible:
I am the 2nd owner of this beautiful Corvette, prior to me being the owner, the car was in an accident. It’s worth noting, that the air-bags have NEVER gone off. But due to the pricey cost of exterior repairs on Corvettes (90% of the damage was done to the exterior); the car was originally given a salvage title, but now has a REBUILT title and here is how that happened:
I purchased the vehicle in 2009 and quickly got it back in perfect working order. The car still has all original/matching running gears, original engine, original transmission, etc. As mentioned above, 90% of the rebuild was exterior repair. Every part purchased during the rebuild was an original manufacturer part purchased from General Motors (No knock offs or 2nd hand parts used here)! The damage to the car was the passenger front right side. Not head on, but the front-right side of the car going to the front of the passenger door. When the car was rebuilt and repainted, just the damaged area was painted.
After I rebuilt the car and submitted all proper paperwork, I called the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) in Richmond and told them the car was fully rebuilt to perfect working order. DMV sent over a Virginia State Trooper to my residence to look over the car and sign off on it. The officer successfully did that on his first visit. He communicated that information back to the DMV, and then I waited on my rebuilt title to arrive in the mail. Once received, I went to my local DMV, paid for VA tags, and here we are now. The car was last VA inspected in January of this year.
I purchased the car in 2009, finished the work and received my new title at the end of 2009. Currently the car has 95,747 miles on it. Most of the miles I have put on the vehicle came from highway miles which was from me driving round trip to and from work. I have babied this car and I average about 27mpg per fuel tank. I also took the Corvette on a trip to Nags Head and I averaged 32 mpg for the trip! When not being driven, the car is kept in a garage.
Maintenance:
I just had all the preventative maintenance that needed to be done at this mileage which included replacing the harmonic balancer, replacing all 4 of the vehicles pulleys, and all new spark plugs. The vehicle has a timing chain so that does not need to be replaced. I had both door modules repaired (which is a common and expensive problem). About a year ago, I had the entire Air Conditioning system replaced and it blows very cold. I also replaced the battery a few years ago as well and replaced the brakes and have always used Mobil 1 full synthetic. I am not certain of any other mechanical work done prior to 2009. What I just listed is everything I had completed since taking ownership of the vehicle. Tire information: There are different sets of tires are on the Corvette, the front tires have around 60%+ tread left on them (5th picture from last). The rear tires where purchased in the last year and have about 80%+ tread left on them (6th picture from last).
I don't want there to be any surprises for the buyer, so here are ALL known issues:
Mechanical Issues:
There are absolutely no known mechanical issues and the car runs flawless and perfect!
I took four engine pictures from multiple angles to help show how clean the engine is and indirectly show how smoothly the Corvette runs. For the first three engine pictures I removed the Corvette casing/covering over the left and right sides of the engine to help provide you the best possible view. On the 4th engine picture, I placed that cover back on the engine.
Interior Issues:
The seats are NOT torn, all gauges and electronics work properly, and there are NO known issues.
Body Issues:
In my opinion, theses are all very minor issues, and not even caught by the eye unless looking for, but as mentioned, I wanted to make sure I pointed out so any buyer would not be caught off guard. I believe the body is in above average condition, but the last 4 pictures represent body items:
4th from the last picture: The picture is of the back end and the word Corvette. There are some vertical scratches streaming down from the word Corvette
3rd from the last picture: This picture is of the passenger-front headlight. In the upper left corner (working towards the engine), the headlight does not rest at a perfect fit. The headlight opens and closes 100% perfectly with no issues whatsoever. This is strictly an exterior body appearance-only item.
2nd from the last picture: The front right quarter panel sits extremely firmly and is properly in place, but is slightly off the passenger door line. This is due to the lack of a screw or bolt. The front right quarter fits and feels just as tight as it should, and as tight as the rest of the body, it's just not pushed in 100% of the way. I believe this would be an easy fix at a body shop or just go without which causes no problems and most people would not even notice.
Last picture: This picture is of the rear end of the drive side door and driver side back tire. There are a couple scratches at the back end of the driver side door, and scratches above the driver-side rear tire. You can see both minor sets of scratches in the photo.
Payment: Please have payment pre-arranged prior to bidding or buying the Corvette. Even with perfect credit, banks usually do not do automobile loans for a car like this. I say that because I would not someone with perfect credit winning the auction with intentions to buy the car, and then encountering issues trying to get an automotive loan. Methods of gathering payment for a vehicle like this usually would come from: Home equity loan, personal loan, money saved up in bank, 401k, etc etc.
Deposit: A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction ending.
Shipping/Transportation: Delivery (if you hire transportation company) or pickup (from Forest, VA 24551) of the vehicle is fully the buyer's responsibility. I could possibly meet someone in Richmond, VA (Major airport there). If you are interested in the car, and would like specifics or if you would like to suggest an alternative location to meet, please email me well prior to the auction ending. If you and I don't have a location worked out in advance of the auction ending, as mentioned, it is your responsibility to pickup the vehicle from Forest, VA.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus
Fri, Jun 16 2023General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.
Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
