HP. Nearly new tires. 29mpg on the hwy. New seats. Removable glass hard top that stows securely under
hatchback. 115,000 miles. Very nice car, runs strong. Always kept in garage or under cover. Car cover included.
I wanted to add a note about the Autocheck score. This car has had quite a few owners. When I bought it 4 years
ago I was amazed at how nice the paint condition was. A black car in Arizona with 5 (or 6) previous owners! Wow,
paint should look like crap. Nope! As far as I could tell, everyone took good care of the car and that is why I
bought it. Sure there are some chips and scratches, but overall the paint really looks great. There is a very
minor oil leak from the pan area. I put UV dye in the oil and found the leak. I have not tried to correct it. It
may just need a retightening of the pan bolts. I did however install a small metal shield to keep the oil off the
exhaust pipes due to the smell. The key fob does not work remotely, might just need a battery, I don't know. One
more thing, most Corvettes I see look pretty good on the exterior but the interior is in serious need of work. Not
this one! For a 17 year old car, it is well worth the price.

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks. Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood.
