Featured in this auction is my 1999 Corvette Convertible C-5. The car is very near mint condition with only 50000 original miles. The car has never been smoked in and it has been garaged kept it's entire life. The guy that had it before I bought it had it in a climate controlled garage, I was told. I bought the car in April 2009 with 45,000 miles on it. I bought the car from Herlong Chevrolet out of Johnston S.C. It was a trade-in on a late model Cadillac and it came from near Charlotte N.C. I have had the car 4 years and I have put 5000 miles on it. It rarely gets driven and has become a garage queen. I don't want it to get hurt so the best way for me to prevent that is not to drive it, hence the low low miles since I have had it. There are only a couple very small nicks or scratches on the factory original paint. No paint work has been done on this car. I was going to get the couple very small nicks fixed and was told not to do so but to leave the car all original with no paint work at all. This car is completely original and since I have had it, it has been pampered and babied. The normal wear points are like new. The door jambs are as clean as new. The steering wheel very nice, seats very nice with protectors put on the seat bolsters to protect them. The car has an original remote operated 12 Disc Trunk Mounted CD Player. The car has Heads Up Display, Power Memory Seats and Memory Power Mirrors too. The car has a manual convertible top, Corvette didn't come out with a Power Top till several years later. The car has all options minus Z-51 suspension. The car does have traction control. The car gets great gas mileage at 22-24 mpg highway. This is a beautiful car, you must see it to appreciate it. The chrome wheels are factory Corvette wheels and the tires are good. I have not done anything to the car since I've had it, other than change the oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic as recommended. Kelly Blue Book Value for the car is:
Excellent-21047
Very Good-20647
Good-20297

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head
Mon, Dec 29 2014Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year
Mon, Nov 9 2015With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. Related Video: ROAD & TRACK NAMES THE FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT350R THE 2016 PERFORMANCE CAR OF THE YEAR New York, NY (November 9, 2015) – Road & Track today named the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R the 2016 Performance Car of the Year, beating out seven of the world's best new sports cars. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.
