1999 CHEVROLET EURO VETTE CONVERTIBLE. These Corvettes were produced in Bowling Green right along side all the
other Vette's, but with options for European export. We've all seen the old classics, and who wouldn't like to own
one of them? I knew a guy that had a 69 L 88 back in the mid seventies, he flaired the fender wells, put some big
tires on it and raced that ol' Vette all over town. Then he got married and settled down, I remember the day I
stopped by his house and setting in the driveway in the place of that Vette, there sat a brand new Ford LTD. I'll
bet he wants to slap himself every time he thinks about that L 88. But you know, we all did the same thing, I owned
a 64 1/2 GTO and a 67 Camaro SS, sure wish I'd held on to at least one of them, oh well, it's all water under the
bridge now. I think that's what you have here, the opportunity to purchase an extremely rare car. GM only made a
few, best calculation is less than 100 of the Euro Vette Convertible's were produced in 1999. Out of the whole C5
production run from 1997 to 2004 not more than 5000 Corvette's were exported to Europe. This listing is a very real
chance to own a genuine low production Chevrolet Corvette. Most of the options are subtle, the average person
wouldn't even notice. An extra light here or there, the button for the trunk release was relocated from the dash to
the console, on the dash where the trunk button was located, now there is a switch to control the back up fog
lamps. The oil pressure gage is in kPa and the water temp ins in Celsius, but no one is going to mistake that 300
mph speedo. To many Euro options to list here, I'll put a photo of the RPO codes in this listing, you can look them
up yourself if your so inclined. This car was originally titled in Gombrook, Manchester, England. the original
owners brought the car to the US in 2003. I purchased the car in January of 2006. I have always treated this car
gently and kept it in the garage, the motor and drive train do not have any issues. I service the car regularly and
only use Mobil 1 oil, has new tires, A-C blows cold air, heads up display, the interior and exterior look great. In
1999 GM didn't produce very many Corvette's for European export, a couple of hundred total, and of these no more
than 100 were convertibles. That being said, it doesn't take a genious to figure how rare of an opportunity you
have to purchase what is sure to be a classic. Cars like the 1969 L88 Corvette, low production numbers are what
made those cars what they are today. That's what's being offered right here, it's just a 1999 Vette, but with the
European export options, this is a genuine GM product with less than 100 examples in the world. I heard about a 63
Euro Vette that sold for 350 grand a couple a years back, that car wasn't really anything special, the kicker was
that it was a low production European export. Put 30 more years on this car, no telling what it'll be, because you
know, those crazy driving Europeans will wreck all there Vette's by then, this might be the only one left, who
knows.

GM may have teased a whole group of electric vehicles

Tue, Jan 12 2021

During GM's big CES press conference, the automaker highlighted a number of its upcoming electric car-related projects from delivery vans to the upcoming flagship Cadillac Celestiq. In the middle of it all, a collection of mystery cars sat in the background behind speakers. They were in the dark, lit only with their running lights, and while it's possible they're just generic filler cars or concepts, we think they could be future products. Our best shot of the cars together is shown above, and we can pretty easily identify three of the vehicles. In the center is obviously the GMC Hummer EV. On either side of it are Cadillacs. To the left seems to be the Lyriq crossover, and to the right is the Celestiq sedan. Two of these cars have production dates, and the third has been confirmed for eventual production, just without timing. This is why we think the rest of the cars are upcoming models. The next most easily identified car is on the near right behind the Cadillac Celestiq. It very clearly has a Chevy bowtie illuminated in the running lights. And looking closely, it appears to be a pickup truck. It's difficult to make out anything more than that. The nose does look a bit more rounded and swept back than the brick-like designs of the Silverado truck line. That also squares with what seemed to be the upcoming truck that appeared in the background of yet another GM presentation. GM previously said this electric Chevy truck will be a full-size model with up to 400 miles of range. That leaves us with three more mysterious models. Over to the left behind the Cadillac Lyriq are what appear to be a pair of crossovers. The one on the far left looks low, curvy, and possibly with a fastback roof. The one on the right is taller, boxier, and probably more of a full-size people hauler. It's hard to say much more beyond that. They could be new electric Buicks, which would fit in nicely with that brand's crossover portfolio, and would likely be highly successful in China, where Buicks, crossovers and electric cars are all rather hot commodities. As for the mystery car on the far right, it's quite a puzzle. We can at least rule out Buick and Cadillac, and GMC since it's definitely a car, and a rather small one compared with the other cars on display. That leaves Chevy, and possibly the autonomous division Cruise. We're leaning toward it being a Chevy, since the first Cruise vehicle is going to be a boxy pod of sorts.

2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Edition is ready to do that outdoorsy thing

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Bikes, skis, kayaks... the Chevrolet Colorado GearOn is ready to accommodate all of them, thanks to a trip to the Bowtie's accessories catalog. The special edition Colorado features the basics of Chevy's GearOn accessories, including a bars package, bed divider and tie-down rings, which can be supplemented with other accessories to haul all manner of outdoor equipment. Beyond that, though, Chevy has fitted a few other items to lift up the Colorado's styling, including gloss-black 18-inch wheels, black Bowtie emblems, a body-color grille, off-road assist steps and front foglights. It's a tidy little update to the compact truck's still-fresh styling. Check it out in our full gallery of live images, direct from the Chicago Auto Show. GM's labor deal with UAW union on verge of ratification

Thu, Nov 16 2023

Nov 15 (Reuters) - General Motors' tentative labor deal with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union closed in on ratification as the votes were counted on Wednesday. Following the approval earlier in the day by more than 60% of union members at the Detroit automaker's large Arlington, Texas, assembly plant, additional votes in favor have the deal close to clinching majority approval. The number of union locals, most of which are smaller, still to report vote totals is not large. After several large assembly plants voted against the deal earlier on Wednesday, some media had reported the deal was heading toward failure. But Arlington's support, followed by strong voting in favor by smaller warehouse and parts facilities, has put the deal on the brink of approval. This would mark the first ratification of a deal, which runs through April 2028, with one of the Detroit Three automakers. Ford and Stellantis voting is still under way, and workers at both companies were favoring ratification by comfortable margins. The UAW's GM vote tracking site currently shows approval of the contract leading by a 54% to 46% margin with almost 32,000 workers having cast votes out of about 46,000 UAW-represented GM workers. The Arlington plant, with about 5,000 UAW members, has the most of any GM plant. Voting officially ends on Thursday at 4 p.m. EST, although most votes will be cast on Wednesday. The UAW went on strike for more than six weeks against the Detroit Three, seeking better wages, working conditions and cost-of-living adjustments. All three companies agreed to tentative agreements about two weeks ago. Workers at other GM assembly plants voted against the deal, including 60% of workers at its Fort Wayne, Indiana, truck plant, 53% at its Wentzville, Missouri, plant, 58% of workers at GM's Lansing Grand River plant and 61% of workers at the Lansing Delta Township plant. Seven of GM's 11 assembly plants rejected the deal. In addition to Arlington, workers at plants in Detroit, Fairfax, Kansas; and Lake Orion, Michigan; approved the agreement. Only nine facilities are still listed without vote totals on the UAW vote tracker, including GM's Lockport, New York, components plant with about 1,200 members. Those voting in favor of the agreement have a lead of almost 2,500 and many of the facilities still to come include workers who stand to receive large pay increases upon ratification.
