You are bidding on a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with a 6 speed transmission and new convertible top in addition in new seat bottoms.

I'm the second owner of this vehicle  and it has been well taken care of.
Currently the car has 89k miles in good cosmetic condition with a brand new soft top to be installed.  It has seen regular oil changes of full synthetic royal purple or pennsoil ultra (recently) since I bought it at about 60k miles. This car has NEVER been run hard cold or abused. The original owner took the car to the a well known custom installer, the "Vette Wrench" around 2003 or so when the aftermarket additions were installed. The following items have been on the car for the last 5 years I've owned it. Keep in mind this car has been lowered.
VIN: 1GYY32G5W5106066

PRT Longtube headers into an X pipe attached to Corsa dual exhaust.
Custom cold air intake installed.
Custom Tune.
PRO 5.0 shift linkage - short throw shifter
Lowered
Z06 wheels with Nito drag radials

This car is in very good condition but as with most cars over a decade old, its not perfect. I know most sellers do not mention problems but I'll try to be as honest as possible.  There are a few cosmetic issues that any buyer should be aware of. The cubby hole under the radio which houses the ashtray and cigarette light has had the folding cover broken off. I have the cover but it will need to be reinserted.  The rear right quarter panel has a small gash in the paint (no dent or material removed) which is roughly half a centimeter. Also, the front bumper of the car has a spiral spider crack that has existed since I've owned the car. I'm assuming the original owner bumped it.  Further, the bottom of painted portion of the car; under the door sills, and front bumper, has been roughed up due to the low ground clearance.  There are also a couple breaks in the paint on the hood about 2.5 inches in length and are separated by about 6 inches. These have been on the car for a few years. One very frustrating problem is that the left turn signal dash light is out of the instrument panel. These are all the cosmetic deficits I can think of.

The convertible top and bottom of the seats are just a few weeks old.

Mechanically the car runs very well with no issues. However, I believe the air conditioning system is leaking out of the high or low pressure vent. It will hold coolant and cool very well but inevitably the coolant leaks out. I'm going to work on this and see if I can't get it fixed.

Bidders with under 10 feedback must contact me or your bid will be cancelled. Due to this car being listed locally, I reserve the right to cancel the auction before its end for any reason (although not likely).

Payment may be made by cashiers check or personal check (no Paypal, cash or bank wire) The car will be released after payment has processed

Any shipping arrangements must be made by the buyer.  If you wish to have the car mechanically inspected or stop by to have a look at it yourself, I encourage it and will cooperate as best I can.
Don't hesitate to ask questions or inquire about further clarification. This includes anything concerning the car or its history.

Happy Bidding!! :)

2016 Chevy Volt powertrain video teasers

Fri, Oct 31 2014

If there's one thing we've learned about plug-in vehicle fans, you have a thing for seeing your cars get made. The series of videos showing BMW i3 production was strangely popular, as were the shots from inside the VW e-Golf plant. Well, with General Motors pulling the veil off of the 2016 Chevy Volt this week, it's time to take a peek at the production process for that vehicle as well. You're welcome. Up first we've got a clip from CNN Money showing a little bit about how the new Volt's new battery pack and other powertrain components are made. Those of you who are trying to read the lithium tea leaves and see if the new shape reveals that the 2016 Volt will have five seats might want to check it out. Then we've got two clips from GM itself, one showing an animation about the updated Voltec powertrain and another with some B Roll of the old Volt. Since GM doesn't want us to see the new car quite yet, we'll have to enjoy this for now. Watch below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party. 10 electric cars we’re excited are coming soon

Thu, Sep 22 2022

If you were considering buying an electric vehicle a couple years ago, we wouldn't fault you for thinking your options were limited, both in terms of quantity and quality. You just might not have been able to find an electric car that would suit your needs, lifestyle or budget. With the newest generation of EVs that have launched in the past year or two, your options have changed — and improved — dramatically. If you still don't see an EV you like, just wait a little while longer. It won't take long. There are a whole lot more on the horizon, and the problem may soon be in narrowing down your options. To give you an example, here are 10 electric vehicles we're excited about that you'll be able to buy very soon, from GM, from Germany, from Japan and more. Some of these will be available by the end of the year, and all are expected to launch by the end of 2023. The Chevy trio: 2024 Blazer EV, Equinox EV and Silverado EV GM is stepping into the future with strong footing. Following high-end electric launches from GMC (Hummer EV) and Cadillac (Lyriq), Chevrolet is bringing three electric vehicles with familiar nameplates. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV (above left) will offer a number of versions, starting with the 2LT and RS trims in the summer of 2023, followed by the 557-horsepower SS in the fall and the base 1LT in early 2024. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV (above right) will go on sale in fall 2023 as a limited-edition model, with volume sales ramping up in 2024, with a base cost of “around $30,000.” For those who prefer a bed to a liftgate, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is an electric pickup that looks more like the old Chevy Avalanche than the current Silverado. The WT (work truck) trim launches in fall 2023, while the 664-horsepower RST will follow in 2024. It should go on sale before the end of 2022. The i7 xDrive60 will be the only variant, with its two motors providing a total of 536 horsepower and 549 pound-feet of torque, and its battery expected to offer a range of about 300 miles. Just like its internal combustion counterpart, this full-size sedan wonÂ’t come cheap, with the i7 starting at $120,295. 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Following the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be the fourth car using Hyundai GroupÂ’s E-GMP electric car architecture.
