1998 Carmine Red Metallic Corvette Coupe on 2040-cars
Waterville, Kansas, United States
See photo of winder sticker for details. I purchased this vehicle almost 6 years ago, it had 4,000 miles when purchased. I drive it only when there are conditions that would be bug or nearly bug free, never in the rain, and always under roof. It's in very good to excellent condition given the age. This car is extremely powerful, if you can't handle speed, this car is not for you. The remote CD cartridge in the trunk has failed, I replaced it and that cartridge failed as well. I simply replaced it with a MP3 cord which works just fine.
Corvettes are not comfortable machines, the noise level is high, some will have trouble getting in with the low entry point, but if you need to drive a well made speed machine that hugs the road like no other American built vehicle, this is it. I've had a great deal of fun when I did take it out. I'm past the age I need to be driving a vehicle like this. People will turn their heads when you drive by, if you don't like attention from the public or police, again this will not be the car for you. Gas mileage is surprisingly good you can expect over 20 on the highway easy. Insurance and taxes aren't bad either. The removable roof needs adjustment, if the wind is blowing hard you will get leakage. The body is in near mint condition, I can't think of one scratch on the surface. I used to tarp it but I didn't like the tarp rubbing the surface so the past few years it gets dusty in the garage but I take it out on perfect days and wash it and park it. On Apr-14-14 at 07:49:58 PDT, seller added the following information: My daughter reminded me last night that she had asked to use the car in her wedding but I wouldn't let her, I know that's terrible but that's how protective I've been. The leakage as described above is air leakage. |

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
It won't be long now before Nissan Leaf finally overtakes Chevy Volt
Thu, Dec 25 2014The two best-selling plug-in vehicles ever are the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf. When the two vehicles launched in late 2010, the plug-in hybrid Volt quickly outpaced the all-electric Leaf and, despite lots of ups and downs since then, continues to hold on to a cumulative sales lead. This will change in 2015. Cumulatively, from November 2010 through November 2014, the Volt sold 71,867 units while the Leaf trails with 69,220. That's a difference of just 2,647. Based on current trends (with the Leaf selling around 2,500-2,700 a month and the Volt at 1,500-1,700) we expect the Leaf to take over either in January or, more likely, February when the Leaf takes over as the most popular plug-in car in America. Perhaps even March, depending on how low the numbers are for January and February, which are always slow sales months in the US. Of course, once it takes the crown, the Leaf can't expect to easily hold on for long. A new Volt is coming in the second half of 2015, likely beating a new Leaf to market. The question is, then, how well the Chevy sells with all of its new bells and whistles. Do you think the Volt will be the comeback kid once the 2016 model becomes available? So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?
Thu, Jan 21 2016You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
