1995 Corvette Pace Car Replica on 2040-cars

I have an awesome, fun, fast, budget-friendly RARE Corvette up for auction. A 1995 Pace Car Corvette. This is not one of the few track cars that graced the Indy 500 but it is one of the 415 that went to Chevrolet's top Corvette sellers. This particular car was delivered to Boucher Chevrolet in Waukesha, WI. All in all, there were only 527 built, which is a very low production amount. By comparison, there were 6500 '78 Corvette pace cars built, over 7000 '86 pace cars as all convertibles were designated pace cars, and 1000 '96 Grand Sport's. I believe the '95-'96 Corvettes are the best bang for your buck out there. I have a GS and both of these cars are simply a blast to drive and the Pace Car gets just as many looks as the GS with it's special purple and white paint and top down. With only 527 world-wide you likely won't pass another one in your town.

This car has 90k miles but it looks like 30k, it has been very well taken care of Take a look at the pictures. The Goodyear F1's are new ($1200), the paint shines as it should. The first owner drove it to see the country for 88,000 highway miles before he passed away. The second owner put just 2,000 miles on it and he installed the stainless tips for a more throaty sound, I have the original can mufflers/tips (it does sound good). A few signs I can tell this Corvette was meticulously cared for: there is absolutely no curb rash on any of the wheels, the engine compartment and wheel wells are immaculate, the bolster area of the driver's seat shows what looks like 30,000 miles worth of wear (see picture). This car needs nothing. It shows no codes, the steering wheel is perfectly straight. The top is in great shape and I assume it is original. It has a tiny 1/8th inch nick in it. The car drives and shifts as it should, it is not a rattle trap, very solid. No smoke whatsoever. The rear bumper has some crack lines in the paint (see picture) and the console has two spots where the finish peeled (picture).

I bought a new passive entry remote for it. I have the original window sticker, bill of sale, and key knockouts, and owner's manual. It comes with a nice custom car cover and I may throw in two matching freshly dry-cleaned Pace Car jackets ($400 value) if I get what I think the car is worth. Clean, clear Indiana title showing actual miles. I am not a dealer so you can save $.

These C4's are nice cars for the money. Why not get one of the most rare ones out there for just a bit more than a regular C4. You won't be disappointed. For sale locally so I may end this listing. Low reserve. Feel free to call me 765-717-9314, my name is Mark.

I wanted to point out that there is a spot of white paint peeled off on the battery access side panel, about an inch around. It would be an easy fix since it is on the rib just below the hood. Ebay won't let me add a any pictures so message me and I will send a couple. I also noticed there are two silver caps missing from the lug nuts, these are readily available.

*I think these cars will rise in value over the years. History has proven that low production numbers translate into higher collectability and values. I would keep this one but my wife doesn't see it my way....I know I will regret selling it someday.

On May-01-14 at 06:38:43 PDT, seller added the following information:

I've had a few questions and concerns on the condition of this car. If you didn't look at the odometer you would think this car has 20k-30k miles on it. The only indication it may have more miles is that the driver's side speaker cover carpet is worn. These are available for $120, personally, I'd look for a good used one. It IS almost 20 years old. The mileage calculates out to 4530 miles a year and most of these were highway miles by the original owner (as per the second owner who bought the car from original owner's widow). The two lug nut covers will be replaced when they get here. Also, the original jack and spare tire are in place and appear to have never been used. Although I have no service records I have the Carfax which shows no accidents and shows the starter replaced at 81,033 on 4/3/2012 and a new battery at 89,304 on 9/19/2013........guys, if you aren't completely satisfied when you come get this car, you don't have to take it.

2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.

Buick Encore, Chevy Trax earn Top Safety Pick from IIHS [w/video]

Thu, Feb 12 2015

The Buick Encore has been a massive sales success practically from the moment it debuted, and Buick recently decided to increase production to keep up with demand for the premium compact crossover. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently put one to the test again, and the Encore earned a Top Safety Pick award. It's the first model from the brand to score the nod since 2013, according to the IIHS, and the rating also carries over to the 2015 Chevrolet Trax. The 2015 Encore scored a Good rating in all of the IIHS' evaluations, including the 40-mile-per-hour, small overlap front crash test. That was a big improvement over the previous model the institute tested, which scored a Poor result in the overlap test. In the first test, about 13 inches of the lower door hinge pillar came into the passenger compartment, and the steering wheel airbag moved too far to protect the dummy's head. Improvements for the latest model year showed six inches of intrusion this time, and the airbags caught the dummy's head well. The dummy's sensors also indicated a low risk of injury. The two CUVs missed out on the full Top Safety Pick+ because the IIHS scored the Encore as only having a basic front crash prevention system, and there was no such equipment for the Trax. To earn the highest mark, models need at least an advanced rating by the institute for this technology. Buick Encore, Chevrolet Trax earn 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK award ARLINGTON, Va. - A small SUV is the first vehicle from the Buick brand to qualify for a TOP SAFETY PICK award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2013. The Buick Encore's newly introduced, lower-priced twin, the Chevrolet Trax, also qualifies for the honor. The Encore's award follows improvements to the SUV's structure for better small overlap front protection. The 2015 model earns a good rating in the small overlap test. In contrast, the 2013-14 Encore rated poor in the test. The driver's space was seriously compromised with intrusion measuring as much as 13 inches at the lower door hinge pillar. The dummy's head barely contacted the front airbag before sliding off the left side, as the steering column moved to the right. The side curtain airbag deployed too late and didn't have sufficient forward coverage to protect the head. In the latest test, the driver space was maintained reasonably well, with maximum intrusion of 6 inches at the door hinge pillar and instrument panel. The dummy's movement was well-controlled.
