1990 Corvette ZR-1 with only 25,638 miles. I have owned the car for a year and have driven and enjoyed it! The car is a blast to drive and the selective ride control really makes the car a pleasure on the highway or on a bumpy road. I have some records from the prior owner, (including window sticker), showing the car was serviced as needed. Since I have had the car I have done the following things. New Kumho Ecsta tires, New rear hatch seal, replaced two actuators for the selective ride control, one new rear shock, two oil changes (Mobil One),new fuel pump, new fuel filter, coolant changed,AC seal replaced, added a keyless remote system that locks and unlocks the doors (and rear hatch), H4 Headlights, purchased two new outer door window seals (but have not installed), new Sony Stereo System (MEX-BT4100P) including Blue Tooth and Pandora controls. The original stereo was not included with the car when I purchased it. The stereo sounds great and all fuctions work as they should! The Service LTPWS light will come on from time to time. I have actually placed a "Corvette" emblem over the area of the driver information center so it does not bug me. The light indicates that there is a problem with one of the tire pressure senders. I have had it to the dealer and they told me its common problem. I check my tire pressure on my own so its not a big deal to me at all. The car has the rare Dark Red Metalic paint. There are the usual corvette stone chips on the hood that have been touched up with paint. You can see them up close, but they are not visible from a few feet away. The car also has some paint stress lines on the top of the rear bumper area near the gas filler. The prior owner had backed into something and the bumper did its job, but left some light lines. There is a quarter size chip, that was touched up by the prior owner, near the gas filler door as well. I tried to take pictures of the areas, but they are not showing up well in the pictures because they are so light. The driver side seat has some wear on the lower side bolster. It appears as though the prior owner had repaired the area and it seems to be holding up well. The car is not a trailer queen, but people do come over to me all the time and say how gorgeous the car looks! I think the pictures represent the car very well. NOTE: The State of New hampshire does not issue TITLES for vehicles over ten years old. Therefore the car will be sold with a "BILL OF SALE" of sale. This is a used vehicle and will have the usual wear for a vehicle with similar miles. The car is being sold "as-is" and without any warranty. Please email me with any question you have. I will do my best to answer them.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Weekly Recap: Revisting the BBC report that ended Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear run

Sat, Mar 28 2015

Jeremy Clarkson's long run as a Top Gear host has come to an end, and the reason is clear: His physical assault on one of the show's producers crossed a line, and the government-owned BBC couldn't tolerate it. The incident between Clarkson and Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon was initially described as a "fracas," and Clarkson was suspended. But his popularity and widespread support – even British Prime Minister David Cameron weighed in – suggested that the controversial Clarkson might be given yet another chance. The BBC put this to rest Wednesday when it sacked Clarkson and revealed the findings of its investigation. The report spelled out how Clarkson struck Tymon on the patio of a North Yorkshire (UK) hotel, leaving him with a bloodied, swollen lip. It was severe enough that the producer sought medical treatment. During and after the attack, Clarkson shouted expletives at Tymon and threatened to fire him. The noise carried into the hotel's dining room and even to a bedroom. Local police investigated the incident, but Tymon isn't pressing charges. The huge audience numbers, Clarkson's popularity and the high-octane excitement of Top Gear all melted away in the eyes of BBC director-general Tony Hall, who saw an attacker and a victim. "For me a line has been crossed," he said in a statement. "There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations." In that moment, Clarkson was the bad guy, though he was actually the one who reported it to the network and made repeated attempts to apologize to Tymon. He's also urged the media to leave the producer alone. Hall voiced regret in the statement that announced Clarkson's contract would not be renewed, but the BBC decided to move on. Rumors are swirling about possible replacements for Clarkson. The network says it wants to continue Top Gear in 2016 and is looking to air the rest of this season's episodes. Despite the controversy, the show has a global audience of 350 million viewers and is one of the BBC's most valuable properties. It's unclear what Clarkson's co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, will do, as their contracts were also reportedly up to be renewed. Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
