Up For Sale is a 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary Coupe with 28350 original miles.  It came equipped with the larger 220 HP L82 motor Automatic transmission, power windows, power brakes , power steering, tilt and telescoping wheel, AM/FM 8 track, power antenna, T Tops, Blue cloth and leather interior. The 4 barrel carburetor was rebuilt about 3 1/2 years ago and the transmission was rebuilt 1 1/2 years ago. The motor runs great. The A/C has been changed over to R134 and blows cold. The car is 100% original like it came off the assembly line except for the Hooker header side pipes that give the car a great sound. I am the 4th owner and I have had the car for 6 years. The car turns heads and get thumbs up every time I take it out. The PO had replaced all of the brake calipers and pads just prior to me buying it. The car does not drip oil or smoke and is in excellent condition for a car of it's age. It has 3 minor things that need attention. 1) the drivers window regulator is missing a track wheel on the back side making the window loose when going up and down and goes up about 1/4" to high in the back. I assume the regulator needs to be replaced. 2) The solenoid that kicks up the idle when the A/C is turned on needs to be adjusted. I replaced the solenoid but can't get it adjusted ( does not affect the a/c). 3) the clock doesn't work. The original paint is in great shape with no major scratched of dings and shines really nice, the tape stripe between the silver and gray has one scuff mark on the front passenger corner(see pic). I am an individual not a dealer that is trying to sell this car. I have described it to the best of my ability. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. All reasonable offers will be considered.

The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to stop this auction at any time.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses

Thu, Apr 7 2016

May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31. GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
