1977 Corvette Stingray Coupe on 2040-cars
Dauphin, Pennsylvania, United States
I traded a 1980 Corvette under restoration for over three years, frame off. Lost the site in right eye impaired my vision to finish car as it was completly disassembled. I took the 1977 as an even trade as the car was all together thinking that I could handle repairs etc, however the loss of eye sight makes this to difficult to do. I have corrected some of the repairs needed. As the Condition description states a lot has been done to make this car a driver, however there are several other needed repairs to make car a total driver. The car is a good restoreable car. Mechanical condition is very good. Tires New , brakes redone.
The car had an Edelbrock high rise intake manifold. I changed that back to orignial intake manifold, as the hood would not close with air cleaner. Previous owner removed aircondition compressor and placed the altenator. on air cond't side. I have bracket to put alternator on the driverside were it beongs. Have the correct bracket for the driverside turn signal grille. The grille and turn signal housing is missing. Frame is straight and in excellent condition, except normal rust. Floor pans excellent condition.Tail lights, head lights need work. Have laminated color coded wiring diagram (Motor- Interior- taillights) Diagram for headlight repair. Repair manuels, owner's manuel (Not Orgnial). If car was parted out the value of the parts far exceed my asking price. The previous owner put on a $1500.00 set of ground effects, I removed same but they will go with the car. Fiberglass used to attach the ground effects is shown in the pictures and needs to be sanded off. The hood has the pnis to hold down hood, However I put in place the hood latches and new hood release cable. The hood can be repaired from the holes of the pins and cut out by hood latch. |

Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson
Tue, Sep 25 2018Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too
Wed, Jul 23 2014The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.
Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video
Mon, Dec 7 2015With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
