1974  Corvette Stingray with T tops

My wife basically inherited this car. It was a project my father in law started.
He purchased the drivetrain and installed it. He had his friend do the body and paint work.
The mileage on it is unknown since the car was completely taken down in his garage.

This is a car that I consider somewhat a project car. Its almost finished, but still needs little things
that are mostly personal taste items.

the technical stuff:

-new GM 350ci crate engine (290 HP) everything under hood is new
-freshly rebuilt TH400 transmission think he got it from jegs
-freshly rebuilt rear differential with 3.08 gears *just installed* rear was done by Van Steel in Florida last week
-freshly rebuilt front end with new brakes
-new Edelbrock 650 4 BBL
-new Edelbrock intake manifold
-Hooker headers with mufflers with turn downs, exhaust isnt installed permamanet.
-too many new parts to list and remember

the paint stuff:

-fiberglassed body seams and painted by 30 year veteran body man
-custom paint (PPG products used)
-House of Color flakes
The paint looks great. it still needs buffing its got excellent clear coverage.

Interior
-tilt telescoping column completely rebuilt
-seats look new. I'm not sure who he had do them.
-all panels were painted.
-gages- temp, oil pressure, amps, work. Tach is not hooked up.

the details:

-car runs, drives, but still needs tweaking
-engine still needs more break in (under one hundred miles on it)
-needs little things finished
-have a lot of spare parts to finish (like AC compressor)

Even finished I'd consider this car a driver for cruise nights and shows. We dont know everthing about the car since
we never went thru it completely. We just dont drive it and need the space.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. GM slashes prices in China as sales falter

Thu, May 14 2015

Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. GM expected to debut two new crossovers at Detroit Auto Show

Thu, Dec 15 2016

Next month, General Motors is expected to debut two new crossovers at the North American International Auto Show. That's according to Automotive News and The Wall Street Journal, which reports that the successors to the aging Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain will finally make their debut. The two crossovers have been on sale since 2009 and 2010 respectively and are due for updates as the competition has newer models on the market. Both crossovers play in growing market segments where sales success is crucial for the respective brands. GM, and the automotive industry as a whole, has been shifting its focus towards crossovers in the last few years. The Traverse and the Terrain are some of the oldest SUVs on the market and are in dire need of an update. GMC's Acadia, the former corporate clone to the Traverse (and Buick Acadia), switched to a new platform in 2016. And the Terrain's platform-mate, the Chevrolet Equinox, was revealed a few months ago. Both the new Chevy and GMC models are expected to go on sale late in 2017 as 2018 models. Look for a follow up to the Traverse's sister, the Buick Enclave, to make an appearance soon.
