I AM LISTING MY 1974 CORVETTE ROADSTER. THERE ARE NUMEROUS MODIFICATIONS MADE TO THIS VEHICLE TO MAKE IT A VERY NICE HANDLING AND RUNNING STREET MACHINE. IT WAS BUILT TO DRIVE AND HANDLE AND NOT SIT ON A TRAILER FOR SHOWS, ALTHOUGH IT DOES LOOK VERY NICE. THE PAINT IS RECENT WITHIN THE LAST YEAR AND THERE ARE NO SCRAPES, CHIPS, OR SCRATCHES ON IT. IT HAS A URETHANE TWO STAGE SYSTEM PPG PAINT JOB, BASECOAT CLEARCOAT AND WAS TAKEN APART AND DONE RIGHT. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE PROCESS ON REQUEST. THE MOTOR HAS BEEN RECENTLY REBUILT WITH LESS THAN A HUNDRED MILES ON IT. IT IS NOT A NUMBER MATCHING MOTOR BUT IS A CORRECT 1974 L82 CORVETTE MOTOR. IT WAS BORED .030 SO IS IN THE VICINITY OF 355 CUBIC INCHES I WOULD ESTIMATE. IT HAS AN EDELBROCK PERFORMER INTAKE WITH A GOOD QUADRA JET ON IT. IT HAS CERAMIC COATED HEADERS AND TRUE DUAL EXHAUST WITH DYNAMAX MUFFLERS. I HAVE INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND MOTOR. THE CAR DOES HANDLE AND RUN MUCH BETTER THAN ANY STOCK NUMBER MATCHING 1974 ROADSTER. IT PERFORMS AS A CORVETTE WAS MEANT TO PERFORM. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO A 700R4 OVERDRIVE WITH A SHIFT KIT, W/B-29 CONVERTOR-2065 STALL AND DEISEL LOCK UP. IT HAS A CORVETTE BRAKES AND PRODUCTS STREET/SLALOM 42002 SUSPENSION KIT WITH COMPOSITE SPRINGS AND BILSTEIN SHOCKS. STAINLESS STEEL XTREME DUTY BRAKE KIT WITH UPGRADES #22372. IT HAS A REBUILT 89 VETTE DISTRIBUTOR WITH AN HT-130 DISTRIBUTOR TACH DRIVE CONVERSION KIT TO WORK THE ORIGINAL CABLE DRIVEN TACH. IT HAS A REBUILT 4.10 LIMITED SLIP REAR END, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. THE INTERIOR IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION. NO RIPS OR TEARS IN THE SEATS. I TRIED TO PICTURE THEM BUT BLACK INTERIORS ARE VERY HARD TO SHOW. THE TOP IS IN NEAR NEW CONDITION AND HAS EXTRA PADDING FOR A QUIETER RIDE. I WELCOME ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS. IF YOU ARE LOCAL I HAVE A LIFT AND WILL BE GLAD TO PUT THE CAR UP AND YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF. THIS HAS BEEN A SOUTHERN CAR AND THE FRAME AND BIRDCAGE HAVE HAD NO RUST OR WEAK SPOTS. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL AND VERY DRIVEABLE CORVETTE ROADSTER. I HAVE SEVERAL MOPAR AND 69 CAMARO PROJECTS SO THE VETTE HAS TO GO. IF YOU ARE A VETTE FAN YOU WILL LIKE THIS ONE. THIS CAR HAS TO BE PAID FOR AND PICKED UP BY SEPT. 21. ANYTHING OTHER THAN CASH HAS TO CLEAR BEFORE THE CAR WILL BE RELEASED. THE TITLE IS A FREE AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE AND IT IS IN HAND. THERE IS NO WARRANTEE AS WITH ANY USED VEHICLE. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE I WOULD PREFER ANY PROSPECTIVE BUYERS TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. A $250 NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT TO PAYPAL IS DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER AUCTION ENDS. THANKS FOR LOOKING IN AND BEST REGARDS.

AN ADDED NOTE: I FORGOT TO MENTION THE ENGINE HAS A CRANE STREET CAM INSTALLED ALSO A K%N AIR FILTER WHICH IS IN THE PICTURES. ALSO THE ORIGINAL RUBBER REAR BUMPER COVER WAS REPLACED WITH A TWO PIECE FIBERGLASS COVER TO KEEP IT ORIGINAL LOOKING AND THE RUBBER COVERS TEND TO CRACK AND PEEL. THE CAR IS A REAL L82 WITH THE T VIN CODE DESIGNATION.

2016 Chevy Volt powertrain video teasers
Fri, Oct 31 2014If there's one thing we've learned about plug-in vehicle fans, you have a thing for seeing your cars get made. The series of videos showing BMW i3 production was strangely popular, as were the shots from inside the VW e-Golf plant. Well, with General Motors pulling the veil off of the 2016 Chevy Volt this week, it's time to take a peek at the production process for that vehicle as well. You're welcome. Up first we've got a clip from CNN Money showing a little bit about how the new Volt's new battery pack and other powertrain components are made. Those of you who are trying to read the lithium tea leaves and see if the new shape reveals that the 2016 Volt will have five seats might want to check it out. Then we've got two clips from GM itself, one showing an animation about the updated Voltec powertrain and another with some B Roll of the old Volt. Since GM doesn't want us to see the new car quite yet, we'll have to enjoy this for now. Watch below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
