1971 Corvette Stingray. 350 270HP Numbers Matching. 4 speed Manual transmission. T-Top car. The interior is original and in very good condition there is a small separation in seam on drivers side bottom seat. The car has new flowmaster exhaust. Has new edelbrock 4 barrel carburater, I have original one as well that will come with car. Have original T-Top covers. New tires. This car runs and drives excellent and has no leaks. Every thing works on the car, speedometer, lights, heater, wipers, ect..Car's wasrepainted once years back and still has a great shine but in rear left quarter has some spots of fish eyeing if you look closely. Car still does very well in car shows. The lines on the car are superb as some have sagging of the fiberglass but the body lines meet up almost perfect on this car. 1971 was a very low production year so this car will continue to go up in value. Nada still books it in the $40K range. My reserve is much less than that. I have 2 other 2 seater cars so looking to sell this to get a nice Chevelle, 1969 Camaro, New style Camaro, Old hot rods, or other classic cars once this one sells or if you have a nice some thing that is not a project and looking to trade if for this fine Corvette I would be interested in that as well. Let me know what you have. Bid to win this is a well cared for example of American Muscle Car. Speedometer shows 29,400 on the odometer, not sure that is original but the car is extremely clean underneath and thru out the interior so it is possible, I do not have any documentation to substantiate that so it is sold as unknown mileage and As is with no Warranty implied.

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division

Wed, Jan 7 2015

An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.

Weekly Recap: Racing legend Jim Hall explains Chevy's futuristic Chaparral concept

Sat, Nov 22 2014

"I said our cars are built to be winners." – Jim Hall Racing legend Jim Hall never thought he'd be a video game consultant, but when Chevrolet asked for his advice to create a futuristic Chaparral for the Vision Gran Turismo series, he was eager to help. He reviewed early sketches and suggested some changes that made it onto the concept, including the addition of a camera that's mounted onto a mast over the cabin to aid the driver. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was revealed this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be part of a downloadable update for PlayStation 3's Gran Turismo 6 in December. Theoretically, at least, it uses a laser-beam propulsion system and an air-powered generator to produce 900 horsepower in the video game. It's capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 1.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 240 mph. Those gaudy performance specs – even in the virtual world – came at Hall's urging. "I said our cars are built to be winners," Hall told Autoblog on the floor of the Los Angeles show. The 79-year-old drove Lotus racecars in Formula One before launching the successful Chaparral Cars in the 1960s. Like his innovative Can-Am racers, the Vision Gran Turismo project has an eye toward the future. It also introduces the iconic Chaparral name to a new generation of fans, and hopefully, Hall says, gets them excited about engineering and design. "It emulates what we did in the '60s," he said. And what they did back then still resonates. Chaparral Racing and Chevy partnered more than 45 years ago for development work on the composite monocoque chassis, lightweight alloy powertrains, automatic gearboxes and active aerodynamics. "He [Hall] walked right back into this and was able to apply thinkings and learnings," said Clay Dean, General Motors executive director of advanced design. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was created at GM's North Hollywood advanced design studio, and it will be on display at the show through November. There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
