1967 corvette roadster 427 big block car. I have both tops, the convertible has not been restored but the frame is in excellent shape no rust and the top is not ragged out. This car is an original big block 427-390 car. The only numbers that match are the transmission and rear end. The rear was rebuilt and had a 355 gear put in, the code on the chunk says its a 308. This car was hit in the front in the 70,s but has been repaired before I got it and the original engine was sold at that time too. The engine is a 454 bottom with 427 heads casting 391 and 840, the engine was gone through and rebuilt the cam is a 272 competition, it runs very strong. The transmission is a close ratio with original shifter and works great. The seat covers are AlKnoch with new foam, new carpet, new knobs, the door handles and all the door hardware is original to car, the previous owner said this was the original mileage. He took it apart in 1980 and never was put back together until I did. This car has no rust on the frame. It has a new back glass and all the rubber is new on the whole car. I did put petronix, it has a 850 double pumper holley NEW. It has new exhaust and covers, the front bumpers are new and the rear are rechromed, I believe this to be the actul miles by the condition of all the emblems and door harware condition. The headlights work. The radio does nt work and the tack did work but stopped, this was originally marboural maroon. It has the original DC code rims, date code seat belts, and all glass except back glass. I put heat insulation in the floor.I does not have air or power steering, it does have power brakes. All new gas and brake lines, new sending unit, new calipers and 90 per cent of allcorrect bolts. If you have any qoestions call 706-974-0059 Jerry. No Trades

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
