1962 Corvette 327 CI V-8
(more powerful) 340 HP engine
Enjoy driving this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 2 Door Convertible in Ermine white exterior paint and a black interior.
It is powered by the factory 327 CI V-8 engine with the more powerful 340 HP engine. Also included is a numbers
matching engine. Car comes equipped with the factory original radio that works-the Wonderbar Radio. It also offers
rare and original power windows. This is a complete car. Its been restored and well maintained. It is ready to
be driven & enjoyed immediately. While you will have the numbers matching engine, it has a newer 327 / 340hp engine
currently with rebuilt engine. The original numbers matching engine is included but not in the car. It has only
been driven about 2,000 miles since the rebuild so it still drives beautifully. From current odometer reading the
car has approximately 104K original miles. While not a concourse car the condition is very impressive and must be
seen. As you know condition is everything with these classic muscle/sports cars. In terms of actual condition, this
1962 Chevrolet Corvette roadster has been restored to an incredibly high standard. Although it is an older
frame-off restoration (about 8 years ago), this sports car has been kept indoors and immaculately cared for, with
only the slightest signs of wear. The car has been driven twice since I had the car professionally buffed and
polished at our local Rod & Custom shop. I have owned the car for about 14 years. It is easily one of the nicest
examples youll find nationwide at this price point & current asking price. The paint and body integrity are
exceptional
*On the car currently are brand new American Racing Wheels VN105D TORQ THRUST D (with about 11 miles on them).
**Also included with the car are the original 1962 steel wheels with original hub caps (boxed up and ready).
***Original 327 CI V-8 340 HP numbers matching engine is included but not currently in the car. Currently in the
car is a newer version of the same reflecting original character of the car (boxed up and ready).
1962 Corvette brief history lesson & stats: The 1962 Corvette was offered in solid colors only, the grill is
blacked out and the chrome trim around the coves was removed. For the first time since 1957 buyers could order the
wheels in the following colors: Black, Beige, Red, Silver, or Maroon. For the first time seat belts were standard
equipment from the factory. All engines were now 327 ci, the 283 ci was retired in 1961. 1962 was the last year for
the solid axle. This is also the last year for an external trunk until the 1998 C5. The exposed headlights also
disappeared until the 2005 C6. The Heater/Defroster became standard equipment this year although they could be
deleted to save the weight for owners who were buying the car to race it. 1962 Production Options and Build

Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. Scroll down below for an official announcement from General Motors.

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid
Wed, Feb 18 2015Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.
