I'm selling my 1961 corvette project, would make a good beater driver with some work or fix up, restore.. Not numbers matching, motor is locked up and shot, rusted frozen hunk of metal. Trans may also be shot, no idea. Sat for years. Front passenger side frame rail has damage but is fine for a driver. Was driven 20 years ago like that. ( I found they sell the rail new and can be replaced if you want to do a frame off) Nose has lots of old fiberglass damage, Inner fenders cut out in spots as last owner was thinking of adding side headers and side pipes. It has a big block style very old after market hood. Rear quarters where cut years ago for big tires. I have repair quarter panels that go about 8 inches around rear wheel wells and the bonding strips, front head light repair strips for top front of fenders. Included is a complete extra front bolt in frame unit with control arms etc, It came from a running driving car with brakes , lines etc. Both soft top frame assembly ( think I am missing one small soft to bracket where the top bolts to body....other side has it. and hard top included, both need to be restored. Missing a door panel. I have the complete seats, seat cushions frames have much rust on the bars, covers are vintage hot rod look, in black, could use but will need a good cleaning, Inside car, rust on a pillars, pass door shuts fine, drivers not to bad, have most dash parts may be missing some things, no dash pad ( hole cut by side of shifter edge on tunnel, have tach speedo and gauges, have old but rusty gas tank( would buy new) have gas tank deck cover, drive shaft, trans is still in car, 4 speed, do not have the shifter , have all bumpers front and back.
. There are a couple ways to go with this car, Buy a complete modern chassis to make a resto rod....great investment if you watch barret jackson and watched the prices, or put is a running motor etc and do a bit of glass work and make a fun driver. Car is an original Jewel Blue car. Clear title in my name and have the original vin plate from steering column ( an other great GM idea) They fall off and this did to and I have it in a envelope with title. Great project. $23,000.reserve Sorry price is firm. In a few more weeks I will start getting the car road worthy and keep it for the summer.
If you hate this car, same your emails, As I hate it to, yes they are worthless to you I know this already, I do not care , yes this is a ugly, shot, beat up, worthless junk that is still what is left of a 1961 corvette and some people can fix up cars in their own garage and say they did work themselves. Sorry I guess I am so old now that I remember people that could fix up cars like this. Then again some have more money and can pay the rate and will have more in the car than worth. I am even telling you don't buy fix up junks like this if you can't work on a car. Buy new and make payments.. This vette will need lots of work. And I have a title in my name. This is a great start, to own a nice driver ( beater corvette) car for a cheap price.
Now, dealers, If you have corvettes like this for sale for 10,000 to 15, 0000. Please all you corvette dealers call me and I would buy them from you. Yes I have cash in hand. Funny how that is. All the dealers are calling telling me how many cars they have? My car is junk... Yes I already told you that. Why are you still looking for more junks? Because just like you say you buy so many restored cars like this for $25.000. If you do, you are very lucky and keep buying them it helps the economy. Please save your low ball offers. I do not need the money, I could use the space. TV show restored cars that is the way to go, no one wants to fix up and drive a car they can work on. Si if you want a nice project bid or email a phone number. I'm sorry emails with out phone numbers will not be returned. I am also not showing the car as it is in storage.
Last the wheels that are on the car are owned by a friend and are not included in the sale of the car. If you want to buy them I could ask him.
Pickup with in 10 days or car will be resold. Payment will be cash in hand. And only cash in hand. Title will be filled out with new buyers name. No deposit needed as it is just more worthless paper work. You other want to come pay for the car or your do not.
Remember you do not want this car it needs to much work and really is pretty much worthless as I have been told by expert corvette people, that still want to buy my car but for less so they can resell it and once they own it it will be transformed into gee a 1961 corvette... worth more. But I still want $23000. LOL

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.
GM recalls Cadillac ATS and Chevy Impala for separate issues
Fri, Feb 27 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration added two recalls from General Motors in the government organization's daily update of safety campaigns. Both were for failing to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards but for completely separate reasons. The larger recall covers 58,698 units of the 2013-2015 Cadillac ATS, but it doesn't really carry huge safety concerns. In vehicles produced between April 25, 2012, and February 9, 2015, the controls for the tilt and slide of the moonroof are not recessed enough, as required by federal law. According to NHTSA, it's possible that someone could inadvertently activate the auto-close for the roof panel, which the agency claims increases "the risk of personal injury." Dealers will install a new trim plate that will add the necessary clearance. The other campaign covers 1,177 examples of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala from between November 15, 2012, and May 27, 2014. However, this is actually a repeat of a previous recall on the Chevy and the Cadillac XTS from 2014. The affected Impalas here "were remedied incorrectly" under the earlier campaign, according to NHTSA. On these sedans, it's possible the electronic parking brake might not fully disengage and still remain in some contact with the rotor, which is in violation of federal rules. The fault can cause excessive heat from the brakes that could potentially lead to a fire, according to NHTSA. To fix the problem, dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module. Show full PR text RECALL Subject : Inadvertent Press of Roof Panel Switch/FMVSS 118 Report Receipt Date: FEB 24, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V106000 Component(s): VISIBILITY Potential Number of Units Affected: 58,698 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) CADILLAC ATS 2013-2015 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Cadillac ATS vehicles manufactured April 25, 2012, to February 9, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the power-operated roof panels auto-close when the non-recessed "Slide" or "Tilt" switches are pressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No.
Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step
Thu, Feb 2 2017General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
