1959 Corvette Convertible with a Factory 283 Motor and 290 HP Rochester fuel injection system. This a numbers matching car.

This car appears to be all original and I have included almost 100 photos to show every angle of the car to give you the best view. I tried to show every part of the car. I also included photos of the floor mats, spare tire, removable hard top and a fun one. It is a safeway trash bag that was in the console when I got the car, it is a 1976 garbage bag given out by Safeway. It helps to show what year the car was last driven and it also matches the year on the license plate which is 1976.

This car was was last driven in 1976. The person I got it from was an airline mechanic and treated this car like his baby. He became ill around 1976 and stopped driving. He never drove the car again. He passed away in 1989 and the car went to his son who let it sit until I bought it. I have a copy of their registration, I have a copy of his death certificate (I won't email a copy, I will pass it to the owner as car history) and I have a clear title in hand.

He left it parked all the way in the back of the car port and you will see in the back where the rain dripped on the car and caused some rain problems with the paint and the bush that grew against the trunk that did the same. The had a car cover over the car and boxes pilled around it, when we moved the car out of the carport the tires were not in usable condition so you will see that I put new tires on it (you can still see the blue on the stripe). I have included photos of the car where is sat when I bought it and photos after I cleaned it...I changed nothing I just cleaned it.

I bought the car to make it into a resto-mod but after letting a couple of classic corvette owners look at it (they didn't like me changing it) and talking to people referred by NCRS I was told to check some numbers for them as well as some types of screws and other items. They couldn't confirm anything without looking at it but they did say based on what I was looking at this car sounds to be all original and told me not to strip it and redo it. So I am selling it to a collector that would like to have an orginal condition 1959 corvette. I might take a 1959 corvette that I can use as a resto-mod in part trade.

I have included every detail I know and I know buying a car like this it a little scary so here is the best detail. If you are high bidder I will give you 72 hours to come look it over and if you are not in agreement that this is an original 59 fuel injected corvette. You can say no thanks and I will refund the deposit. I am 100% sure of what I say but I don't pretend to know everything and I want to buyer to love this car.

Here are some numbers:

Block 3756519

Rochester Fuel Injection 7017300

I don't know what else you would like to know but I hope the photos show you the details, I took some photos of the same area but at different angles to show you more details. The photos taken where it appears dark and raining are the photos where I found the car....the photos taken in the sunlight where taken yesterday. The car has been inside a garage since I got it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and Happy Bidding

On Jul-31-13 at 10:41:36 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have been getting some question  about the motor number. I can't tell if the third position is an i or a 1.....so it is either F4I0CS or F410CS. I hope that helps.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Chevy's latest Silverado videos assume we're idiots

Mon, Jul 6 2015

UPDATE: This article has been revised to reflect that any mention of materials used in a future Chevrolet Silverado is speculation. Can we have a sound, rational debate about the merits of aluminum versus steel? According to Chevrolet's latest marketing videos pitting the Silverado against the Ford F-150, the answer is no. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of course, this will all be a hilarious joke when an aluminum-bodied Silverado comes in 2018. That's an if, as a member of the General Motor public relations team has reminded me that any articles regarding future product are pure speculation. Until then Chevy needs to sell the current Silverado, with its body comprised chiefly of steel, against the Ford F-150's lightweight aluminum panels. Instead of touting the merits of the "most-dependable, longest lasting pickup," the strategy seems to center around negative propaganda towards the 13th element. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of the three videos, the most fair is Silverado vs. F-150 Repair Costs and Time: Howie Long Head to Head. Basically: aluminum costs more than steel, it's more difficult to repair, and requires special equipment for body shops. In terms of Chevy versus Ford, the blue oval truck costs more and takes longer to repair - an average of $1,755 more and 34 more days in the shop, according to the ad. But why stop there when you can have pitchman Howie Long raising an eyebrow at random facts? When Silverado Chief Engineer Eric Stanczak says of the Ford, "It's manufactured in a way that combines aluminum, rivets, and adhesive in a process that's different than Silverado." Long responds, "Huh. Interesting." At the end of the video, Long says "I'd be interested to know what happens to insurance costs." Note he's not saying anything substantive. If Chevy's legal team could sign off on some facts about insurance rates, it would be in this ad. On our Autoblog Cost to Own calculator, there is no significant difference in projected insurance costs between the two trucks. But at least that ad has facts. The other two videos are pure hype. In Cages: High Stength Steel, real people are asked what they think of aluminum and steel in a room with two cages. Then a bear is released into the room, and the subjects scurry to the safety of the steel cage.

Aston Martin DBX and the craziest car redesigns | Autoblog Podcast #716

Fri, Feb 11 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. They chat about slumming it in the Aston Martin DBX, the brand's first SUV, which they didn't have terribly high expectations for yet utterly blew them away. Riswick in particular notes it's one of the best cars he's ever driven, describing it as a family GT car. They then switch to a very different family vehicle: the 2022 Kia Carnival, and the unique second-row seating arrangement we've dubbed the "Captain Kirk chair." Greg has also been driving the Chevrolet Tahoe Premier. They also chat about two of Riswick's recent features: the 20 craziest car redesigns of the past 20 years and the best cars for snow.  Autoblog Podcast #716 Get The Podcast Apple Podcasts – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast in iTunes Spotify – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast on Spotify RSS – Add the Autoblog Podcast feed to your RSS aggregator MP3 – Download the MP3 directly Rundown Cars we're driving Aston Martin DBX 2022 Kia Carnival 2022 Chevy Tahoe Features 20 craziest car redesigns of the last 20 years Best cars for snow Feedback Email – Podcast@Autoblog.com Review the show on Apple Podcasts Autoblog is now live on your smart speakers and voice assistants with the audio Autoblog Daily Digest.
