1953-2003 Corvette Convertible Commemorative Limited Edition, 1 Of Only 200 Made on 2040-cars
Willis, Texas, United States
This is a very beautiful and fast corvette. It has the look of the earliest C1 Corvette as well as all the conveniences and drivability of a C5. It is a limited 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition. It is #134 out of 200 designed and assembled by Advanced Automotive Technologies. She is a little wider and longer than the original '53-'54 Corvettes. It comes in gorgeous high gloss Pearl White finish. Simply stated, this Corvette is EXCEPTIONAL in every way imaginable.
It is loaded with options including upgraded chrome ZR-1 wheels and Borla performance exhaust. The sound from the exhaust is classy and muscular. You know you're driving a performance car that can move its rear and lay you back in the seat when needed. The two toned red and white leather interior is in exceptional condition and is like new. The steering wheel is a gorgeous red and white. There are NO scratches, rips or tears anywhere in the interior and it is very clean. It has NEVER been smoked in. The powerful LS-1 5.7L fuel injected Corvette engine pumps out a reported 350 h.p. with a smooth six speed transmission and a Hurst shifter that shifts effortlessly through all gears and gets over 24 mpg average. This car handles extremely well and rides on Hancook Ventos V12 EVO 245/40ZR/18's on the front and 295/30ZR/18's on the rear. They are in very good condition. This car has very low miles since completion in 2006 and today shows a little over 31,000 easy miles as evident by its condition. It has always been garaged and covered. A previous owner is reported to be the current president of NASCAR. I have NEVER had this car in the rain and I can see NO rust anywhere. I have only driven her on sunny days and she is a proven show winner (Best Corvette) as well as being a very nice classy driver that is a joy to drive. This corvette gets compliments everywhere she goes and EVERYONE loves her! I am seeking a serious buyer who will appreciate what this car represents to Corvette enthusiasts. I will also consider a trade for a real nice '63 Corvette split window coupe or an equally nice '70 BOSS or '67-'68 Shelby Mustang. If you have any questions, please message me through e-Bay. I will try to respond quickly but unfortunately do not have a lot of free time for phone calls unless you're real serious. I am located about 30-40 minutes north of Houston, Texas and the nearest airport is Houston-Bush Intercontinental. |

Watch this week's Top Gear America used-car challenge
Sat, Sep 9 2017Top Gear America is back for the penultimate episode of the first season. Used car challenges were some of the highlights of the original UK edition. In our exclusive clip, Tom Ford, Antron Brown and William Fichtner run their $7,000 sports cars in a drag race. As expected, the trio chose very different cars for the challenge. Watch the video to see if a Subaru WRX's all-wheel drive can overcome a power deficit to beat a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Corvette. Brown and Fichtner also spend some time relaxing with an old Jeep Wagoneer. Like them, we're really hoping Jeep will bring back the Wagoneer nameplate. Brown also drives a Maserati Levante, proving that not all family cars need be boring. This week's guest star is actor, rapper and former host of Pimp My Ride, Xzibit. Top Gear America airs Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern on BBC America. Related Video: Celebrities TV/Movies Chevrolet Ford Subaru Top Gear exclusive top gear america
Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping
Wed, Dec 6 2017When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]
Thu, Aug 7 2014It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
