 Up for auction I have a beautiful Rust Free, 1966 Corvair Monza Sport Sedan with 58,XXX original miles. I purchased this "Barn Find" from an Estate in California a couple of years ago and brought it back to Texas for rejuvenation.

I had the exterior repainted the original Cameo Beige which turned out very nice. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. The interior has been redone with a mix of fabric and vinyl, along with new carpet and padding. The headliner, door panels and dash pad are original but look great with no rips, tears or stains.
I've added a Kenwood stereo with CD along with 4 speakers. There was no cutting done, so the originality is still present if you chose to remove them. The system also is set up with Bluetooth so you can drive hands free if need to receive a call.
Below is a list of all items that I've replaced or repaired.

* New 15" BF Goodrich TA Radials with freshly Powder Coated Wheels -Including the Spare
* New Brake System-All components including Master Cylinder
* New Idler Arm
* New Vinyl Top
* New Wheel Moldings
* New Door Strips and Seals including Fuzzies
* New Electric Fuel Pump- Airtex E8016S
* New Interior as mentioned above
* New Rear Tail Lenses with LED inserts
* All Engine Tin was powder coated
* Engine was resealed
* New Blower Fan Bearing
* New Alternator with Proper Conversion
* 4 Fresh Carb Rebuilds- Steve Goodman of Rear Engine Specialists
* New Battery (2013)
* New Emergency Brake Cable

All fluids were changed including the Transmission and pan gasket

If you are looking for a Turn Key Corvair, this is it.....This is not a project. All you have to do is drive this one.

The only known leak is from the shifter cable on the transmission. It will leak some if left sitting more ( about 1 Tablespoon)  than 2 weeks. We have tried to reseal twice with no success.

The car runs and shift great. No shakes, shimmies or vibrations. This is one nice cruising Vair!!

I'm a member of the local Corvair Club as well as CORSA. The last Corvair show I participated in we won * Best Interior* and *Best Engine Compartment*

I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
Please remember that this is a 48 Year Old Car and is sold with No Warranty.

On Aug-29-14 at 08:53:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

 ******Just in case you didn't notice, this includes a period correct luggage rack and the stock 140 HP with a PowerGlide Transmission******
There wasn't too many of these made in 1966
Another item of interest is the Carb linkage, which is the updated and improved set up that Roger Parent sells
The last picture shows the car when I received it from California. Once again, Rust Free!!! The underside is also very clean and rust free.

eBay Find of the Day: 1990 Chevy 1500 454 SS with just 7 miles

Sun, Jan 4 2015

When trawling the classifieds either on a buying mission or merely a time-wasting mission, we spend a lot of time poring over photographs comparing the seller's idea of "Like New!" with our idea of it. It's hard to argue with seven original miles on the odometer, though, which is what this 1990 Chevrolet 1500 454 SS has. It's being sold by Country Chevrolet on eBay, the same dealer who sold the truck to its one and only owner 25 years ago. The purchaser bought two of them and left this one in a garage under a car cover, said garage being less than seven miles away from the showroom floor. Better yet, you can buy with confidence because the seller "has collected all records," which we expect would be the slimmest manilla folder in the history of receipt-keeping. For those unfamiliar, the 454 SS was a half-ton, regular cab, 2WD pickup powered by a 454 cubic inch (7.4-liter) V8 with 230 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque shifting through a three-speed transmission. This was at the same time the Chevrolet Corvette used a 5.7-liter V8 producing 250 hp and 350 lb-ft. The pickup rode on exclusive wheels and only came in black with red cloth inside. The only extra-cost option on this example is an $18 locking fuel filler cap, which, according to the 454ss forum, means it should have cost about $18,460 out the door, the equivalent of about $34,000 today. At the time of writing there are zero bids, but proceedings open at $45,000 and Country Chevrolet wants $49,000 if you have to have your time capsule right now.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
