Selling my 1965 Corvair Corsa roller. It has a 180 Turbo motor and 4-speed manual.
Body: The body has been professionally restored and painted, and is rust-free. This is the absolute perfect car for a restoration, as the body work has already been done. Floors and front trunk area are original paint and are in exceptional condition. Everything else - body, doors, dashboard, engine bay, etc. have brand new paint. All the glass is included and damage-free. Only the windshield is not installed yet, but is included. Rear floor pans have been cut out but can be welded back in very easily. Again, no rust there. Brand new weatherstripping on trunk and hood, doors, and window fuzzies.
Engine/Transmission: Engine is a 180 Turbo. Included with the sale, currently out of the car. The motor spins freely and has a bunch of go-fast parts like electronic ignition, finned oil pan and valve covers. Assembled except for the accessories, intake, turbo (anything that sits on top of the motor). I have most of the parts for it. Transmission is a 4-speed manual, fully assembled and functional.
Interior: Custom upholstery has been made for the car already, including door panels, rear quarter interior panels, driver's seat and rear seat (see photos). I also have brand new carpeting waiting to be installed.
A hotrod in it's day! It's the perfect project for someone looking for an easy muscle car restoration, race car build, hot rod, etc. I have boxes upon boxes of parts to put the car back together with. I haven't gone through everything yet because I didn't have time to finish the car, but many of the parts needed for reassembly are there. This car is ready to be reassembled, all the hard stuff like body and paint is done - I just ran out of time. Currently a roller. The car has been stored indoors under a cover since the body was restored. Title in-hand, signed by previous owner. Somewhat flexible on price, make me an offer. Any questions, please text or call 845-803-7592.

I've been getting a few questions about what parts are included vs. what needs to be purchased. I have to admit I'm not a Corvair expert, so I don't know the parts down to the last nut and bolt - however, all of the major brackets and parts are there to get it together as far as I know. The only major thing that it needs is wiring. Other than that, you may need some interior trim pieces, engine accessory brackets, and screws/nuts to put it together. To the best of my knowledge, I do believe you can get most of the car together with what's here, but it will need some small parts. I strongly encourage you to come and check out the car in person before bidding if you need a better idea of what's included. I can also try to answer any questions about the car over the phone or email if you're not in the area. I want to represent the condition as honestly as possible so there are no surprises.

Electric Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Bolt EUV and more GM electric cars are on the way
Wed, Mar 4 2020GM’s murky and somewhat secretive electric car plan is falling into place, as the company dumped a massive amount of information about whatÂ’s in the pipeline at an event at its Warren, Michigan campus today. New EVs are going to be popping up across the GM brand lineup, with new entries from Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick in progress. We also learned some big news about GMÂ’s new Ultium battery tech today, but check out this story for all of those nitty-gritty details. The electric vehicle onslaught will begin with the Cadillac Lyriq, an electric SUV thatÂ’s already been teased out. Naming it the Lyriq is the news today. No explanation for the name was provided, so weÂ’ll have to wait for April to learn more. GM didnÂ’t specifically say if the Lyriq would be launched at the NY Auto Show, but that show (assuming coronavirus doesnÂ’t cancel it) will begin on April 8 this year. Next up in the order of events is the GMC Hummer electric truck that we know will be launching on May 20. This truck will use GMÂ’s modular Ultium battery technology. However, the wait to buy a GMC Hummer will be a long one, as the truck isnÂ’t going to dive into production until fall 2021 at GMÂ’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant. GM revealed that its new modular Ultium batteries can be configured anywhere from a 50 kWh pack to a 200 kWh pack depending on the application. Range is estimated to be about 400 miles on the upper end with the largest battery pack, and GM continues to boast about a 0-60 mph acceleration time of three seconds. Charging estimates for the Ultium battery-equipped Hummer EV were also provided. GM says its truck platform will have 800-volt battery packs and be capable of 350 kW fast-charging. Time estimates werenÂ’t given, but those numbers suggest the truck will be a rapid charger. The Hummer truck on hand, which was the same that previously starred in GMC's Super Bowl spot, showed off removable roof panels that store in the frunk, as well as what appeared to be a version of GMC's Multi-Pro tailgate. It also featured sail panels on the sides, similar to those in front of the bed of the Chevy Avalanche. In addition to the Hummer, expect to see a couple Chevys launching. GM says the refreshed Bolt EV will be launched “in late 2020” with a refreshed interior and what appear to be thicker front seats.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
2014 Corvette Stingray meets Tesla Model S in drag strip showdown
Wed, Jan 29 2014They come from two different worlds and have little in common. The Tesla Model S P85 is the sportiest version of this paradigm-punching sedan from California, while the 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 is a performance-enhanced version of Michigan's recently-updated sports car stalwart. The West Coast car seats five adults and eats electrons like Popeye eats spinach, the Easterner has two passenger places and, surprisingly, sips gasoline like one might bourbon. An attribute they do happen to share is extreme quickness. This similarity is all the excuse Drag Times needed to set the vehicles beside each other at the Palm Beach International Raceway for a bit of mano-a-mano quarter-mile combat. Fortunately enough, cameras were rolling for each of two bouts down the blacktop and the results recorded for our edification and enlightenment. The winner? We won't spoil it for you, but let's just say it's really, really close. How close? Scroll below and watch the video for yourself. Just be warned, the results may surprise you.
