Up for sale is my classic/historic 1963 Corvair Monza 900 Club Coupe with 2spd PowerGlide automatic. This car is ready to roll to Cruise-ins or Car Shows. Just a great driver that looks wonderful. There are no records to certify the mileage however the folks at the Corvair Ranch and other mechanics who have seen the car are all positive the mileage is accurate as not having crossed 100k (73,xxx). It has been repainted at some time but all of the typical rust areas show as original metal. It is Ermine White with Red interior.
In the last year, the following has been done. . .
Installed Rebuilt carbs purchased from Clark's Corvair
Installed New Spark Plugs purchased from Clark's Corvair
Installed new carpet (matches OEM) purchased from Clark's Corvair
Installed new kick panels and rear package pane purchased from Clark's Corvair
New rubber weather strip in both door opening installed by The Corvair Ranch
New rear wheel bearing installed by The Corvair Ranch
New Fuel Sending Unit installed by The Corvair Ranch.
PA Safety inspection by The Corvair Ranch in the fall of '12
Transmission Fluid Changed and Oil Changed.
When replacing the carpet we went the extra step of applying multiple coats of Rust Bullet to the interior surfaces of the floor pans. They were only showing the most superficial bits of rust after the carpet was removed. We have before and after pictures. They are sealed up now for posterity.
The car comes with Factory 13" wheels with BiasPly tires and 70's era 14" Enkei rims with Radial tires. The rear fender skirts only fit the 13's.
Everything works. The only items left on my list are to source an original jack from The Corvair Ranch (has an aftermarket currently) and to replace the lower rear grill. For some reason it has a '61 grill. In the Classic Car world's scale of 1-6 for condition, I peg this as a very solid 3. I used the Hagerty Insurance Valuation Tool on their website which tracks auctions and sales.
Included in the sale are the two sets of tires and rims, 2 sets of 13" hub caps, the fender skirts, Shop Manual and Supplement, Owners Manual, 1:18 scale model, and anything else I have for it.

NHTSA closes 4-year GM investigation, issues common sense advisory [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015Since January 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating a possible problem with corroding brake lines in General Motors' GMT800-platform models, like the Chevrolet Silverado and Suburban and GMC Sierra, in states with salt on their roads in the winter. However, as opposed to launching a full recall of millions of vehicles, the government is issuing a common-sense safety advisory to all drivers in snowy states to keep their vehicle's undercarriage clean. It even has a video explaining things. "Older-model vehicles, often driven in harsh conditions, are subject to corrosion over long periods of time, and we need owners to be vigilant about ensuring they, their passengers, and others on the roads are safe," said NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind in the announcement of the end of the investigation. The agency was clear in its report that "brake line corrosion seen in the GM vehicles was not unique," and the government "has not identified a defect that would initiate a recall order." Instead NHTSA is advising drivers, especially those of vehicles from before 2007, to wash their vehicle's undercarriage in the winter and spring to remove salt or other de-icing chemicals. It also recommends regular checks by a mechanic to make sure everything is in proper order. According to the investigation documents, for just the GMT800 platform models, NHTSA found 3,645 complaints of brake line corrosion, which included allegations of 107 crashes and 40 injuries. The issue was found to be more common in vehicles over 10 years old. GM has released a statement (embedded below) that the company "supports the consumer advisory from NHTSA urging regular maintenance and care of brake lines on older vehicles." NHTSA Closes Investigation into Brake-Line Failures NHTSA 13-15 Thursday, April 9, 2015 Agency issues safety advisory on preventing undercarriage corrosion WASHINGTON – The Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a Safety Advisory and consumer video encouraging owners of model year 2007 and older trucks, SUVs and passenger cars to inspect brake lines and thoroughly wash the underside of their vehicles to remove corrosive salt after the long winter in order to prevent brake-line failures that increase the risk of a crash.
Sunday Drive: A tale of old favorites and upcoming challengers
Sun, Oct 8 2017Sedans and crossovers dominated the attention of our readers last week, led by the completely redesigned 2018 Honda Accord. It's the Japanese automaker's flagship, and people are seriously interested in finding out how good the latest Accord is. So interested, in fact, that no other single story came close to the brand-new Accord in Autoblog reader interest. Moving down the list we find the equally new 2018 Buick Enclave. GM natural gas-powered vans recalled due to possible leak
Wed, Sep 24 2014General Motors is recalling almost 3,200 of its compressed-natural-gas powered utility vans because of possible leaks. GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a notice last week saying that 3,196 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana CNG vans are on recall, though no accidents have been reported due to the possible issue. The recall is specifically for vans for model years ranging from 2011 to 2014. The recall stems from a potential leak from the compressed natural gas high-pressure regulator, and such a leak could cause a fire or explosion. GM will replace the vehicles' high-pressure regulator in order to fix the problem, will do it free of charge and is instructing owners to contact Chevrolet or GMC customer service to arrange for the parts replacement. Utility vehicle makers like General Motors have pushed for fleet sales of CNG-powered vans and trucks for the past few years and have touted them for their cheaper refueling costs relative to standard gasoline, not to mention the fact that natural gas can be readily sourced from throughout North America (thanks, fracking). According to CNGPrices.com, compressed natural gas sells for about $2.22 a gallon, on average, while the AAA is pegging the average price of gas at $3.34 a gallon. NHTSA has posted information on the recall here. Featured Gallery News Source: NHTSA via Reuters Green Chevrolet GM GMC Natural Gas Vehicles CNG gmc savana
