This was one of several older cars that I purchased a couple years ago. It has been sitting out, unprotected from the elements and thieves for more than 30 years. Despite that, it is pretty complete and possibly restorable. I don't have the energy to do it so I'm passing on the opportunity to someone else. I know very little about it so I'll show you some pictures and then answer any questions you might have about it. The biggest catch to it is that it is located just outside Blanding, UT 84511. Although we're not at the end of nowhere, you can see it from it (nowhere, that is!) What that means is that it is difficult and expensive to get vehicles hauled from here. Even a minimal hauling charge will run you more than what you'll probably be able to buy the car for. So please take that into consideration before tying up a lot of my time answering your questions or bidding on it. However, if you're truly interested, I will do all I can to answer any and all questions you might have, or provide you with additional pictures as needed. The car is sold where is: as is, with no warranties expressed or implied. I can help load it; but, as far as I know, I don't even have any wheels that would fit on it, so take that into consideration as well when figuring out if you really need it. I do have it for sale locally, but once I get a bid on it, it will no longer be for sale here -- so that I don't waste your time and efforts if you're a sincere bidder. Camaro-based Trans Am SE Bandit Edition borrows Burt Reynolds
Tue, Mar 29 2016For some reason, modifying modern Chevrolet Camaros into the lurching, reincarnated shells of the Pontiac brand is still a thing. If you're the perverse sort that likes this kind of thing, you should check out the latest product from the Trans Am Depot, which comes complete with an endorsement from the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds. Yes, the new Trans Am SE Bandit Edition has been signed and endorsed by the man himself, but what's important here is not the signature on the dash, it's the bits of Camaro that have been modified. Aesthetically, that means a Bandit-and-Frog-approved set of T-tops, a front-opening hood with a very large, prominent shaker scoop, an equally large and prominent screaming chicken, and Trans Am-inspired front and rear fascias. And naturally, Burt Reynolds' signature adorns the dash. There are plenty of reminders in the cabin about this car's Hollywood inspiration, too. Bandit decals can be found on the front headrests and center console lid, there are chicken wings on the Camaro-spec plastic door inserts, and the black-and-tan color scheme matches nicely with the exterior look. And power? Well, Sheriff Buford T. Justice would have a lot more trouble keeping up with this Trans Am than he did with the original. The 7.4-liter LSX V8 has been paired with a 2.9-liter supercharger which is good for 840 horsepower. It's fast and loud, and even if you can't get behind the look (we can't), at least this Camaro-in-Trans Am's clothing can impress with its performance. The Bandit Edition is limited to just 77 units with prices starting around $115,000. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming
Sun, Feb 5 2023LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Netflix productions also will include electric vehicles made by other automakers, the company said.
