4dr Sdn Sedan Automatic Gasoline 2005 Cobalt Chevy Chevrolet on 2040-cars
Stuart, Florida, United States
Vehicle has been maintained very very well. ALL maintenance has been done. Next service isn't due till 100000 miles which would be plugs, plug boots, and belt. All of which will be included with vehicle. I have pretty much every record for vehicle including oil changes. Also original factory manual included. I have 2 extra key fobs that have not been programmed but original factory one is also included for alarm and keyless entry. This vehicle has been my daily driver and a great one at that. The only reason I am selling it is because we got a really great deal on a new vehicle. The body is straight and true with only minor paint chips. No dents or dings. There was an accident reported on vehicle. I made mistake parking on the street one evening instead of driveway and came out to a dent in rear door on drivers side. I reported it to insurance and it was repaired at Custom Auto Center of Stuart, Florida and has a guarantee on the work for the life of the vehicle. I wouldn't take it anywhere else for repairs. I have pictures of dent before repair as well. Recent work. Brakes done at 71000 miles to include vented rotors and ceramic brake pads Transmission serviced at 70000 miles Tires have less than 15000 miles on them Air filter and gas filter replaced at 60000 miles. KN air filter so will never need to be replaced just cleaned and flows better than stock air filter. Cabin filter replaced at last oil change. Shocks replaced at 65000 miles. Car has an in dash JVC DVD player with IPOD/IPHONE and ANDROID interface with mirror imaging. It connects to phone and you can utilize all your apps including navigation. I have had seat covers on vehicle since I purchased it, no rips tears, or stains. 3M tinted windows with lifetime warranty card included from Tropic Tint of Stuart. The alloy wheels are factory but have only been on vehicle since 55000 miles. It came with 15" steel wheels and I disliked the look and replaced with the premium 16" alloy wheels from Chevrolet. The bad... The previous owner did not have windows tinted and tops of interior of doors have some fading. Not bad since the door color is light to begin with. any other questions please feel free to Contact me. I can hold vehicle for shipping for a couple weeks while you arrange pickup or to fly in to drive home. However full payment for vehicle is due within 7 days. |

GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.
NHTSA closes 4-year GM investigation, issues common sense advisory [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015Since January 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating a possible problem with corroding brake lines in General Motors' GMT800-platform models, like the Chevrolet Silverado and Suburban and GMC Sierra, in states with salt on their roads in the winter. However, as opposed to launching a full recall of millions of vehicles, the government is issuing a common-sense safety advisory to all drivers in snowy states to keep their vehicle's undercarriage clean. It even has a video explaining things. "Older-model vehicles, often driven in harsh conditions, are subject to corrosion over long periods of time, and we need owners to be vigilant about ensuring they, their passengers, and others on the roads are safe," said NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind in the announcement of the end of the investigation. The agency was clear in its report that "brake line corrosion seen in the GM vehicles was not unique," and the government "has not identified a defect that would initiate a recall order." Instead NHTSA is advising drivers, especially those of vehicles from before 2007, to wash their vehicle's undercarriage in the winter and spring to remove salt or other de-icing chemicals. It also recommends regular checks by a mechanic to make sure everything is in proper order. According to the investigation documents, for just the GMT800 platform models, NHTSA found 3,645 complaints of brake line corrosion, which included allegations of 107 crashes and 40 injuries. The issue was found to be more common in vehicles over 10 years old. GM has released a statement (embedded below) that the company "supports the consumer advisory from NHTSA urging regular maintenance and care of brake lines on older vehicles." NHTSA Closes Investigation into Brake-Line Failures NHTSA 13-15 Thursday, April 9, 2015 Agency issues safety advisory on preventing undercarriage corrosion WASHINGTON – The Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a Safety Advisory and consumer video encouraging owners of model year 2007 and older trucks, SUVs and passenger cars to inspect brake lines and thoroughly wash the underside of their vehicles to remove corrosive salt after the long winter in order to prevent brake-line failures that increase the risk of a crash.
