1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne C20 on 2040-cars
Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, United States
1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 20 Series Pickup It
has its period correct GM 350 V8 engine (manufactured Aug 2001), mated
to a properly functioning column shift automatic transmission. We have
driven this truck around locally for some light hauling. It runs very
well and is 100% mechanically roadworthy-NO overheating, NO starting
issues, NO transmission issues, just a slight puff of smoke under heavy
acceleration. It is a great restoration
candidate because it is "All There". Look closely at the photos, nearly
all of the exterior moldings are attached, and intact. The interior,
with its original metal dashboard, has all of its original gauges-only
the temp and fuel gauges don't function. The seat needs to be
reupholstered, however the original headliner and dash pad are in very
nice, unblemished condition. Most important is
that the floors and frame have been remarkably well preserved. They are
perfectly serviceable and safe, and are showing only slight surface
corrosion that would be expected on any original vehicle of this age. The
bed is in very nice condition, except for a few minor rust areas near
the tailgate (see Photos). The original bumper, grill and headlight
buckets are all in very nice condition. The only other exterior
concerns that bear mention are some rust in the inner fender wells at
their bottoms near the radiator support, and the cab corner is rusted
through on the passenger side. Please look at
the photos closely and it will be evident that this is NOT a basket
case. With a little bit of effort, this truck could very easily be
transformed into a safe, roadworthy driver. Truck shows 92,475 on the odometer, however, title was processed in error with 97.455 miles ...... due to age of vehicle, truck is being sold mileage except. We are a pre-owed car dealership located at 1601 Swede Street in Blue Bell Pennsylvania, 19422, just minutes off the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit 333, outside of Philadelphia. Our hours are Monday thru Thursday 9am to 8pm EST, Friday 9am to 5pm EST, and Saturday 9:30am to 4pm EST. Any questions please call 610-272-0200. |

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

1956 Corvette SR-2 factory racer profiled
Mon, Jan 19 2015The Chevrolet Corvette has earned its place as America's sports car, capable of taking on the best the world can throw at it. Much of that winning reputation was earned with victories on the track. Now, there was a chance to own an early piece of the nameplate's motorsport history in the form of a 1956 Corvette SR-2 racer, but some deep pockets were necessary to get it, with an estimate of $6.885 million. The story behind the SR-2 is fascinating. In 1956, famous General Motors designer Harley Earl's son was racing in a Ferrari. Obviously, that wasn't going to work given his father's position within the automaker, and Harley and Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov got to work on a faster racecar. Three were made. This one was reportedly the first, and for 1957 it also received a fuel-injected V8 making a claimed 331 horsepower and four-speed manual gearbox, according to "Corvette Mike," the owner and seller. The SR-2 went on display in Scottsdale, AZ appropriately timed to coincide with the big Barrett-Jackson auction there that wrapped up this weekend. The car wasn't part of that event; instead marque specialist Mike Vietro sold the racer as a private treaty sale. Company spokesperson Troy Worrell told Autoblog both the bids and identities of the bidders will remain undisclosed. The video above goes into even deeper detail about this rare, finned Vette or check out the car's full description for even more info.
